Im Heimatmeer. Großer gelber Vogel.

Swimming is so comfortably near a home ;-) ... I would like to take off or pull away, but not immediately ... thinks the little yellow bird and turns a few more rounds ... Our daughter makes it just as well on her way growing up ... And no, we do not feel that as an April joke, but enjoy it and everyone is happy ;-)

Once again my eyes fell by chance on this little toy chick, this time in the kitchen. I thought of my daughter, and that she's not a little chick anymore (where's the time left?), that she's probably going to move out soon, and that a home is something like that, nicely enclosed like an egg ... Thought of "The Chicken and the egg and what was there first", "the yellow of the egg" (Which does mean it's brilliant, the bee's knees) ...
And when shooting I had to think of earlier times, when our daughter was young – and the Sesame Street with a similar protagonist:
"Big Bird" is one of the main protagonist of the children's television show Sesame Street. He is an tall bright yellow anthropomorphic canary – he can roller skate, ice skate, dance, swim, sing, write poetry, draw, and even ride a unicycle. Despite this wide array of talents, he is prone to frequent misunderstandings, on one occasion even singing the alphabet as one big long word ... (Wikipedia)

(Wikipedia)

Ingredients: Saucer as a swimming pool, cracked raw egg, hatched wooden chick and sunlight. Oh – and still our home, which is reflected in the bubble ;-)

Many people are fooled into thinking this furry little creature is a bee (in flight, it is even more bee-like as it produces a high-pitched buzz), and that it's long sharp proboscis makes it dangerous!
Social media sites often get many posts containing pictures of this insect, often captioned with ‘what is this?’ or ‘what type of bee is this?’, and the Natural History Museum is frequently asked to help people identify these little creatures that fool people so often! www.nhm.ac.uk/discover/news/2014/april/bee-flies-false-wi...
In fact this little creature is a Bee-fly (The Dark-edged Bee-fly - Bombylius major), a bee mimic fly whose proboscis is used for drinking nectar and it is completely harmless to humans!
However, it is parasitic on solitary mining bees and bumblebees, and lays its eggs in the nests of its hosts. It does this by hovering over nests or burrows and dropping or flicking their eggs into the nest. Before they deposit the eggs, they coat them in soil or dust. This adds weight to the eggs and may also be a form of camouflage. Once the larvae hatch, they crawl further into the nest/burrow and feed on mature bee larvae, eventually killing them. Another way in which this little creature is an April fool!
Marya and I saw this on the bus from the airport yesterday. I have no idea, maybe it is a Wizard of Oz tribute restaurant or something.
We were so tired from the plane ride that we both thought we were hallucinating.

not an april fool's joke .....
I had a small glass jar of barbie-sized photo props that fell onto a blue lap quilt and when i looked, the shoe lace had formed itself into a cursive D-- how weird is that?..
really wished i could have used it for the macro mondays theme of trash but it's over the size parameters
April Fools day.. the trickiest of days .. by the way want a deal on a "Rolex" ? .. April fools and a HHM to you too.

Would you like fries with your... umm, cupcakes?
Ok, I usually have fun in the kitchen when I'm making cupcakes, but I couldn't stop laughing while I was making these! I'm still laughing now just looking at them =)
I've seen this idea before, but when I saw it done to perfection by Smiley Sweets ( www.flickr.com/photos/smileyssweets/ ) a couple weeks ago, I knew I just had to give them a try.
Vanilla cupcakes with a slice of chocolate cupcake, frosting for ketchup and mustard and green tinted coconut for lettuce.
Plants suffer too! How many times have we vegetarians/vegans heard this objection! Well, plants do not suffer as a sentient being with a nervous system suffers. So calmly prune your roses, at the right time and in the right way: they will bloom again and will not bear you a grudge.

April fool 😄
It's Thursday, one more day until the long weekend.
Just need a major push today and then play, play for 4 days!
If you're a Montrealer, don't forget seasonal street parking begins today, so don't forget to move your car (especially in front of our place =D) so the nice street/sidewalk sweepers can do their thing. (And you can avoid a $50 ticket!)
That's all I got. Oh, and some disco ball Easter eggs. I go into the dollar store for generic magic erasers (my cleaning addiction guilty pleasure) and these sparklies always call me. What can I say? I am easily amused.
Hope you like them.
Be round to visit you all soon. xx
:::: BIGGER ....is better for your eyes and soul...almost a MUST in this case...:-))) !
Imapixirius Flikrius is a unique and rare specimen of deep-water marine fishpix family, commonly named fishflickrfriendae or fishflikrerae. This large family, contains only eight genera and 32 species. Imapixirius may eat up to 10 000 000 pixelaniaes in just 24 hours and some day he will also have a side order of favonidaes. The first fossil record of this specimen dates to the MiocenePix epoch - and was discovered by Gaëtan Bourque in 1958. They look oddly oblong in appearance and have photospherpix head and nuclear blue-green weird eyes. On certain days, these fishes may be found in all computer aquarium worldwide.

Flame-billed Shellsnatcher ~ (Phabricatus Ornithoidii)
For me, The Flame-billed is the most beautiful member of the Shellsnatcher family of birds. They are extraordinary in flight and are efficient fishermen. They are uncommon visitors to the Gulf Coast of Florida. This one was associating with a small group of Sharp-tailed Shellsnatchers and was very cooperative for photos. Nothing brings a tranquil smile to my face like hearing their iconic "Chip-Ip-Chi-Woooo" call.
Thanks for visiting!

Want to eat fish? Do it yourself and go fishing!
I'm not sure if this is really an April Fool's day prank. Well, maybe if you are hungry, and want to prepare yourself a hearty fish sandwich and all you find when you open the tin is liquorice candy. All week long I didn't have a single idea what to do for this theme. And when I finally had a halfway decent idea (late Saturday afternoon), it was too late to get all the utensils for it. Originally I had wanted to put a fish hook, bait and a boulter into the tin, but these are not items I happen to have lying around in one of my cupboards. Since all of the shops specialized in fishing tackle in Berlin are located in the suburbs, it was too late to go there on Saturday - and today I couldn't go because public transport is strike-hit all Monday. Sigh. So the salty liquorice herrings and a hook from the kitchen had to do ;-)
I took only two shots and stacked them manually in Photoshop so everything would be sharp, processed the stacked capture in Luminar 3 - Accent AI filter, small details and microstructure on the tin and the candy, used the HSL sliders on the background (increased saturation on the blue background and changed the blue to a slightly more turquoise / aqua coloured tone) -, then added a water-ish texture in ON1 Photo RAW.
A Happy Macro Monday, Everyone, and don't let April fool you ;-) !
April, April?
This shot is sort of my contribution to April Fools photos. Not a motive I would normally post. However it was quite funny shoting it. Pigs are very curious and my presence caused a lot of disturbance in the pigsty. The two guys in the foreground were heavily arguing while another pig in the background took advantage of the whole situation being very naughty :)
