ST STUPID'S DAY PARADE- the BANKER's HEART...the big, black marble rock in front of BANK OF AMERICA... Here the parade terminated but NOT before everyone tossed their loose pennies at the banker's greedy black heart!
IT WAS SUCH A FUN APRIL 1ST at the SAINT STUPID DAY'S PARADE in SAN FRANCISCO. There is no other event in the world where folks gather to HAVE FUN and poke fun at the imbedded horrid capitalist explotation of the world. NO VIOLENCE just FUN...
Everyone came in costume...ADDA came as a REPUBLICAN BURNING IN HELL (which we all know in our deepest of hearts is where all REPUBLICANS and RIGHT WING A-0's will end up) !
Everyone gathered at the EMBARCADERO then proceeded to the WORKERS STATUE...then to the OLD STOCK EXCHANGE for the wonderful spoof...SOCK EXCHANGE...everyone tossing old socks in the air ! A RIOT!
Onward to the BANKER's HEART...the big, black marble rock in front of BANK OF AMERICA...where everyone tossed their loose pennies at the banker's greedy heart!
There was tons of good fun, great signs, good vibes, political statements, and incredible costumes
(BTW...so much more fun, much better and more creative than the WONDERCOM folks who have to rely on someone elses creativity! geesh)

Chatting online-FB with my buddy about April Fool's of last year when I google eyed his work kitchen. He's an amazing exec chef for the childcare center where we work together. Today he's sad because, no joke, he ran out of his favorite hot sauce so I snapped a shot of my alternative.

"I think I first came across Scripting News around 4 or 5 years ago. At the time I had recently started learning how to code and so it seemed like it might be the sort of thing I should be reading. I didn’t really know much about the web.
Though there was definitely a computing theme, it soon became apparent that it wasn’t really about scripting at all. Nevertheless I kept coming back, day after day, I found the stories interesting and liked that it was more about people. After a while I started to follow the links, reading the bits and pieces at the other end and curiosity would lead me to far away places. Reading Scripting News is an adventure every day!
One of my favorite things is seeing things from new points of view, new perspectives, from angles you never knew existed. Those ah-ha moments are priceless and hard to come by and I’ve had so many of those moments while reading paragraphs on this site.
So thanks Dave and Happy 10th Birthday to the ScriptingNews-o-Sphere!"

For April 1st, we put together this spoof camera. It's a combination of Olympus 35 RC rangefinder, Sigma DP1 and Sony Alpha 350.
Unfortunately, despite heroic support from Haje Jan Kamp's excellent Photocritic blog, we didn't manage to attract as much attention as we'd have liked. We'll have to be a little less subtle, next time.
But then, I had cheated by making sure my source material was suitable for the end result.
