If you dropped by my website yesterday, you might have suspected I'd gone mad for MAD. Yes, by tradition, The BradLands was tranformed for a day into an altogether different site. This year, it was The MAD Lands, a little tribute to that monthly magazine put together by "the usual gang of idiots".

There have been eight years of April Fool japes altogether in The BradLands. That's a lot of foolery:

1999: Ethay entireyay itesay asway anslatedtray intoyay Igpay Atinlay orfay ethay ayday.

2000: The site heard Avon calling and became The BardLands

2001: The DrabLands re-rendered the entire site in monochrome (and this was before I knew about CSS, so that was done all by hand, kids!)

2002: What a sell-out I am! For 24 hours, this was The BrandLands

2003: A Bunch of groovy changes brought about The BradyLands

2004: A bit of fiction for the RSS-reading crowd: More Fool I

2005: My (under-)wired website: The BraLands, Must-See Double-D, and The Daily Bra.

Thanks for fooling around with me for so long!

We have red tall stools at this counter so they look like soda fountain stools.

Our family has fun with April Fools Day every year. I planned this year's dinner around a nature theme. We had Turtle Sandwich, Giant Ladybugs, Moldy Twigs, and Cheesy Worms.

IT WAS SUCH A FUN APRIL 1ST at the SAINT STUPID DAY'S PARADE in SAN FRANCISCO. There is no other event in the world where folks gather to HAVE FUN and poke fun at the imbedded horrid capitalist explotation of the world. NO VIOLENCE just FUN...

Everyone came in costume...ADDA came as a REPUBLICAN BURNING IN HELL (which we all know in our deepest of hearts is where all REPUBLICANS and RIGHT WING A-0's will end up) !

Everyone gathered at the EMBARCADERO then proceeded to the WORKERS STATUE...then to the OLD STOCK EXCHANGE for the wonderful spoof...SOCK EXCHANGE...everyone tossing old socks in the air ! A RIOT!

Onward to the BANKER's HEART...the big, black marble rock in front of BANK OF AMERICA...where everyone tossed their loose pennies at the banker's greedy heart!

There was tons of good fun, great signs, good vibes, political statements, and incredible costumes

(BTW...so much more fun, much better and more creative than the WONDERCOM folks who have to rely on someone elses creativity! geesh)

This week is Spring Break and it also includes April Fools Day! So at Kline Creek Farm we are having a bit of fun with the families who are coming out, looking for something to do while the kids are out of school. The farm is full of anachronisms and bad puns, including partridges in our pear trees.

Without the sign it might look like an untended traffic island.

If only I had gotten an art degree, I would see how important it is.

APRIL FOOL'S DAY in SAN FRANCISCO is celebrated with the annual ST. STUPID's DAY PARADE which starts out at JUSTIN HERMANN PLAZA and winds its way through the Financial District.

Absolute F-U-N !

This year the corporate BAIL-OUT greedy pigs were honored as well as the general STUPIDness of well, anything & everything!

Some highlights are featured here...such as the rally at the SOCK EXCHANGE (Pacific Stock Exchange) where socks were exchanged by being thrown in the air!

The ST STUPID'S DAY PARADE went to CITIBANK, 101 CALIFORNIA...where it was lunch hour and the PARADE shouted to the businesspersons...GO BACK TO WORK!

...and of course, the PARADE would not be complete without a visit to the cold black BANKER'S HEART in front of BANK OF AMERICA where folks tossed pennies at the black marble 'sculpture'.

The faces of the tourists and the businesspersons who didn't have the slightest idea of WHAT THE HELL was going on.

A very ONLY IN SAN FRANCISCO event!

a 3 year old's April Fools day prank

We added an air vent; dude needs to breathe sometime.

The Wood Duck pictured above is well know for it's ability to duck under wood or wooden deadfalls located in the many lakes and rivers of the Canadian Wilderness - thus the Common name "Wood Duck" eventually became associated with this beautiful bird...........

..........a short tongue twister based on this ducks wonderful skills also became quite popular at one time........"How much wood could a wood duck, duck, if a wood duck could duck wood.........and so on..........

The word duck comes from Old English *duce "diver", a derivative of the verb *ducan "to duck, bend down low as if to get under something, or dive", because of the way many species in the dabbling duck group feed by upending; compare with Dutch duiken and German tauchen "to dive".
