2015 APRIL FOOL'S DAY in SAN FRANCISCO is celebrated with the annual ST. STUPID's DAY PARADE which starts out at JUSTIN HERMANN PLAZA and snakes its way through the Financial District. Absolute F-U-N !

The parade goes to the SOCK EXCHANGE (Pacific Stock Exchange) where socks were exchanged and thrown in the air!

The ST STUPID'S DAY PARADE then went to 101 CALIFORNIA...where it was lunch hour and the marchers shouted to the businesspersons...GO BACK TO WORK!

...and of course, the PARADE would not be complete without a visit to the cold black BANKER'S HEART in front of BANK OF AMERICA where folks tossed pennies at the black marble 'sculpture'.

OH the faces of the tourists and the businesspersons who didn't have the slightest idea of WHAT THE HELL was going on. Though many, to their credit, got into the fun & smiled, and whipped out their cameras for the copious photo ops.

A very ONLY IN SAN FRANCISCO event! The VIEW COUNT is SEVENTY-SEVEN MILLION VIEWS (77,000,000+ VIEWS ).

This is my prrof that I'm not in Tehran, unlike what I wrote on my blog as my April' fool's joke. I'm in Toronto, holding today's New York Times (Canadian papers are not worth the money ), at Bay and Gerrard. Both city hall and CN tower are visible in the background. Watch a short video of the same scene, if you can't believe it. (توضیح به فارسی)

Written and illustrated by Charles Siple, and appearing in the April 1965 Bicycling! Here it appears in the paperback published in 1970 (and reprinted in 1972) titled "The Best of Bicycling!" Edited by Harley M. Leete Published by Pocket Books. My father's idea for his story anticipated today's "mechanical doping" by at least 30 years!

The top and bottom rear derailleurs plainly reveal the whole article to be a joke, but the placement of the motor in the seat tube is uncanny.

Ignite Phoenix is an information exchange for fostering and inspiring Phoenix’s creative community. In one evening, you hear 18 passionate speakers from our creative, technical, and business communities talking about their current projects or favorite ideas for just five minutes. Presentations will educate and inspire you, and maybe make you laugh in the process.

The Presentations

Up to 20 slides and 5 minutes is all you get. Not a second more. The presenters need to get to the point quickly, and make it exciting and engaging.

We welcome topics about anything that other people will find interesting. That’s a wide criteria and that’s just fine. If the most interesting submissions end up being technical, then Ignite will have a technical feel. There is a wide mix of topics. If you’re not interested in the current topic, all you have to do is wait for 5 minutes and a new one starts.

IT WAS A FUN APRIL 1ST at the SAINT STUPID DAY'S PARADE in SAN FRANCISCO. There is no other event in the world where folks gather to HAVE FUN and poke fun at the embedded horrid capitalist exploitation of the world.

Everyone came in costume...ADDA came as a REPUBLICAN BURNING IN HELL (which we all know in our deepest of hearts is where all REPUBLICANS and RIGHT WING A-0's will end up) ! i shouted MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the business people in the Financial District who stopped and stared in utter confusion.

Everyone gathered at the EMBARCADERO then proceeded to the WORKERS STATUE. There in honor of CLOWNS WITHOUT BOARDERS they put a 'red clown nose' on one of the statues! ADDA DADA got the crowd cheering 'HERO' for the guy who put the nose on the statue.

then to the PACIFIC STOCK EXCHANGE for the wonderful spoof...SOCK EXCHANGE...everyone exchanged socks & then tossed them in the air! One of ADDA DADA's Christmas SANTAs socks were found and declared a SAINT STUPID HOLY RELIC! (you so know i loved that)

Onward we went to the BANKER's HEART...the big, black marble rock in front of BANK OF AMERICA...where everyone tossed their loose pennies at the banker's black greedy heart! (This is just like the muslims in Mecca who toss rocks at the black stone which represents the devil..)

There was tons of good fun, great signs, good vibes, political statements, and incredible costumes

Good luck that the videos go on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE tonight

In 1957, in the early days of television, the BBC Panorama presenter Richard Dimbleby announced that a very mild winter and the virtual elimination of a type of weevil had allowed Swiss farmers to enjoy a bumper spaghetti crop.

It accompanied its announcement with footage of Swiss peasants pulling strands of spaghetti down from trees and laying them in the sun to dry. Mr Dimbleby explained how each strand of spaghetti always grew to the same length thanks to years of selective breeding by generations of growers.

THANK YOU for visiting this virtual gallery! Enjoy my social documentary photos of the various events in San Francisco! Thank you FLICKR for providing an outlet for my artistic creativity !

April installment of the Socks For All Seasons Pattern Club: April Fool's Day Socks. These socks are both really simple and really unusual. The prank here is that a simple pair of socks emerge in the strangest fashion. Because the pair is knit all at once, there will be no second sock syndrome... And

if you can’t bear cutting the socks open, you can always wear your creation as a cowl!

YouTube a century ago.

Pick a YouTube video and click the "1911" button.

When I was working at Kew Gardens in 2005 there was a major exhibition of work by glass artist Dale Chihuly. I'm not one for the hype and general nonsense that accompanies such events, and as an April Fools prank I set up a 'rival' installation in the atrium of a private building under the name of the acclaimed balloon artist Olaf Lipro.

It has to be said I was quite pleased with my efforts, but it didn't last quite as long as Chihuly's 'The Sun' (see findery.com/PhotosOfThePast/notes/the-sun-by-dale-chihuly...)
