Ignite Phoenix is an information exchange for fostering and inspiring Phoenix’s creative community. In one evening, you hear 18 passionate speakers from our creative, technical, and business communities talking about their current projects or favorite ideas for just five minutes. Presentations will educate and inspire you, and maybe make you laugh in the process.
The Presentations
Up to 20 slides and 5 minutes is all you get. Not a second more. The presenters need to get to the point quickly, and make it exciting and engaging.
We welcome topics about anything that other people will find interesting. That’s a wide criteria and that’s just fine. If the most interesting submissions end up being technical, then Ignite will have a technical feel. There is a wide mix of topics. If you’re not interested in the current topic, all you have to do is wait for 5 minutes and a new one starts.

The other day I found an enormous bug in my house. I had no idea what it was when I saw it, so I grabbed my camera and put on the 65mm macro lens to make sure I got some detailed shots of what I figured might be the important characters. Details at Enormous Unknown Bug!
April installment of the Socks For All Seasons Pattern Club: April Fool's Day Socks. These socks are both really simple and really unusual. The prank here is that a simple pair of socks emerge in the strangest fashion. Because the pair is knit all at once, there will be no second sock syndrome... And
if you can’t bear cutting the socks open, you can always wear your creation as a cowl!
Oh, web April Fools' jokes, how I love thee. Did you guys see Cadie today? That was hilarious.

Energy-Saving Oven: In honor of the Easy-Bake oven's 40th anniversary, Sun engineers took a "clean sheet" design approach when building an eco-friendly Wolf® 30" Double Easy-Bake rackable convection oven — featuring CoolThyme[tm] technology -- that is powered by a single 60 watt light bulb. Drawing about as much power as a light bulb (duh), its 32 simultaneous processing threads deliver the best performance per watt of any lightweight oven available, said Paul Loss, lead engineer. While conserving energy, these ovens do not compromise on performance, having set 13 world records since launch. And unlike competitive offerings, the Wolf® CoolThyme[tm] Easy-Bake rack also features an integrated 11-bottle wine cooler stocked with fine wines, including Turley 2004 Hayne Vineyard Zinfandel. On April 2, food aficionados Jonathan Schwartz and Greg Papadopoulos will be preparing PBS cooking show host Caprial Pence's Wild Mushroom Flan (adapted for the Easy-Bake oven as featured on NPR) -- baking one tart at a time for 30 minutes at a temperature of 60 watts (3x faster than its closest competitor). Sun expects that the Wolf® CoolThyme[tm] Easy-Bake oven will soon be eligible for energy conservation rebates.

Oh noo!
This is his blog and seems like Rilakkuma lost his weight because Japanese gov' found him the bad role model for little kids and order him to become thinner!
In recent years, there has been a greater concern about the presence of obesity and metabolic syndrome in children and adolescents.
Rilakkuma got arrested to being lazy, then he had to loose 100kg!
Because he's supposed to be a good role model!
and he is no longer cute lazy bear!
he is kinda creepy now!!!!!

At the time I am writing this (4/1/11) these are the 72 most interesting photos in my stream, according to flickr's whacked out interestingness algorithm. I decided to steal weissphoto's idea & post a scout poster, since they like to play an April fool's trick on us all & tell us all our photos made explore. Well, I know I have but a mere 11 photos in explore at this time - so it is highly unlikely that the rest of my photos made explore overnight, but thanks anyway, bighugelabs, it was a nice thought! It is also a nice way to display your most interesting current photos, so thought I'd have some fun! View On Black

2015 APRIL FOOL'S DAY in SAN FRANCISCO is celebrated with the annual ST. STUPID's DAY PARADE which starts out at JUSTIN HERMANN PLAZA and snakes its way through the Financial District. Absolute F-U-N !
The parade goes to the SOCK EXCHANGE (Pacific Stock Exchange) where socks were exchanged and thrown in the air!
The ST STUPID'S DAY PARADE then went to 101 CALIFORNIA...where it was lunch hour and the marchers shouted to the businesspersons...GO BACK TO WORK!
...and of course, the PARADE would not be complete without a visit to the cold black BANKER'S HEART in front of BANK OF AMERICA where folks tossed pennies at the black marble 'sculpture'.
OH the faces of the tourists and the businesspersons who didn't have the slightest idea of WHAT THE HELL was going on. Though many, to their credit, got into the fun & smiled, and whipped out their cameras for the copious photo ops.
A very ONLY IN SAN FRANCISCO event! The VIEW COUNT is SEVENTY-SEVEN MILLION VIEWS (77,000,000+ VIEWS ).

IT WAS A FUN APRIL 1ST at the SAINT STUPID DAY'S PARADE in SAN FRANCISCO. There is no other event in the world where folks gather to HAVE FUN and poke fun at the embedded horrid capitalist exploitation of the world.
Everyone came in costume...ADDA came as a REPUBLICAN BURNING IN HELL (which we all know in our deepest of hearts is where all REPUBLICANS and RIGHT WING A-0's will end up) ! i shouted MERRY CHRISTMAS to all the business people in the Financial District who stopped and stared in utter confusion.
Everyone gathered at the EMBARCADERO then proceeded to the WORKERS STATUE. There in honor of CLOWNS WITHOUT BOARDERS they put a 'red clown nose' on one of the statues! ADDA DADA got the crowd cheering 'HERO' for the guy who put the nose on the statue.
then to the PACIFIC STOCK EXCHANGE for the wonderful spoof...SOCK EXCHANGE...everyone exchanged socks & then tossed them in the air! One of ADDA DADA's Christmas SANTAs socks were found and declared a SAINT STUPID HOLY RELIC! (you so know i loved that)
Onward we went to the BANKER's HEART...the big, black marble rock in front of BANK OF AMERICA...where everyone tossed their loose pennies at the banker's black greedy heart! (This is just like the muslims in Mecca who toss rocks at the black stone which represents the devil..)
There was tons of good fun, great signs, good vibes, political statements, and incredible costumes
Good luck that the videos go on JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE tonight

...and of course, the PARADE would not be complete without a visit to the cold black BANKER'S HEART in front of BANK OF AMERICA where folks tossed pennies at the black marble 'sculpture'.
OH the faces of the tourists and the businesspersons who didn't have the slightest idea of WHAT THE HELL was going on. Though many, to their credit, got into the fun & smiled, and whipped out their cameras for the copious photo ops.
