VWS6383 Taken on the Wing-Soulbury road August 18 2017. A day of sun and bursts of rain. I don't know where the rain dropped but I was fortunate enough not to get wet! I took this photograph because I just loved that huge cloud.
The sun was still very bright and I only had my iPhone so I used the tree to block the sun - I like the final image. I think i might use this a cover for some blank inside note cards.

Founded in 1683, The Ashmolean re-opened on Saturday 7th November 2009. Their new display approach is "crossing culture crossing time." It was my first glimpse today, the much loved older museum is still here, but now enormously extended and plenty more to enjoy.
Supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the Ashmolean is currently undergoing a £61 million redevelopment. Award-winning architect Rick Mather has designed a new building to replace all but the Grade I listed Cockerell building. His design will double the existing gallery space, allow environmental control, and create a dedicated Education Centre and conservation facilities.
I've tried to show something of the atmosphere and texture of the museum in many of the photos, I also wanted to convey the sense of movement and people's interaction with the art objects, therefore razor sharp clarity (were I to achieve that) was not my number one objective. This set will grow as I explore the new galleries, I hope you'll forgive me if I do not tag or describe everything right away as there is so much to take in!

Reno is a city in the US state of Nevada. Known as "The Biggest Little City in the World", Reno is famous for its casinos and as the birthplace of Caesars Entertainment Corporation. The city is situated in the northwestern part of the state and is the county seat of Washoe County. Reno is the most populous Nevada city outside of the Las Vegas metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 225,221 making it the fourth most populous city in the state after Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas. The city sits in a high desert at the foot of the Sierra Nevada and its downtown area (along with Sparks) occupies a valley informally known as the Truckee Meadows.
Reno is part of the Reno–Sparks metropolitan area which consists of all of both Washoe and Storey counties and has a 2013 estimated population of 437,673. making it the second largest metropolitan area in Nevada.

Some people think CDOT should install a sign or paint a line that guides bicyclists to cross the railroad tracks (there are two sets of 3 rails) at a right angle (90°).

Pictured here is an extremely intense band of lake effect snow. Late afternoon sun illuminated this snow squall perfectly as it quickly approached my location from the northwest, note the cumuliform cloud tops and streaks of heavy snow underneath its dark base.
Hunter Noack, In A Landscape performance at the Sumpter Valley Gold Dredge State Park
Hunter, Noack created “In a Landscape,” as a new approach to presenting classical music. "This is the spirit of Oregon, the Wild West, where nothing is impossible, where the wagons circle round and everyone gives what they can to build something greater than any one person," claims Noack. Noack came up with the novel idea of passing out wireless Sennheiser headphones to attendees who want to use them, beaming the music he’s playing to them via radio frequencies, even enhancing the sound a bit with digital magic to make it sound even more like a concert hall.
The Sumpter Dredge State Park in Sumpter Oregon. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Sumpter Valley Gold Dredge is the last of three built on the Powder River. Built in 1935, it ran until 1954. It dug up more than four million dollars worth of gold. The Dredge is located just a block off of the main street of the small historic mining town of Sumpter along the Elkhorn Scenic Byway
The tour of the dredge is a great way to explore the gold mining heritage of Eastern Oregon and the Sumpter Valley. The Dredge is currently undergoing restoration however park rangers will continue to host tours throughout the restoration process.
Visitors to the park can also try their luck at gold panning and explore the vast system of nature and interpretive trails that meander through the tailings left by the dredge as it worked its way up the river bed more than a half century ago.

On Thursday, March 26th, guests gathered for the Ambassadors Speakers Series titled, “Children, Hospitals and Post-Traumatic Stress: A New Research Approach” at the Manhattan Beach Marriott, hosted by Kathy Hauck.
CHLA Chief Nursing Officer, Mary Dee Hacker, and panelists Nancy Blake, Jeffrey I. Gold, and Cristie Suzukawa, led an intriguing discussion that delved into the causes, signs and symptoms of hospital-induced post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and how interdisciplinary nursing research may uncover solutions. The panel also provided practical tips to manage hospital stressors for children and adults.
