I was practicing with my 1.4 converter on my 100-400 lens. Unfortunately, the auto focus doesn't work on lenses with more than f4. So I have been in manual focus mode. I am planning a trip to Yellowstone in May and need the longest glass I can use. More duck.

Like most other glaciers, this one left behind a moraine (large rock pile) along it's retreat path.

Approaching Gundu Island by speedboat. This island is actually owned by the Taj Malabar Hotel, which also provides all the catering for private events, the entertainment, the decorations, etc. From the hotel, the ride in a fast speedboat over to Gundu takes no more than 10 minutes.

Nets for a fish trap seen while boating south on Canalul Letea in the Danube Delta, Tulcea County, Romania. The canal runs along the west side of the village of Letea in C.A. Rosetti commune, and is the main connection between the village and the outside world. Only the people who live in the delta are allowed to use fish traps. Outsiders can get permits for angling, but not for traps and nets.

One of the barer bits of the Sierra Nevada (though there are plenty of them). But we do fondly remember getting stuck in a thicket of willow (not for the first time) further down the valley.

Deep under Liverpool city centre, Western Approaches Command was a major operational command of the Royal Navy during World War II.

The command was responsible for the safety of British shipping in the Western Approaches, a rectangular area of the Atlantic ocean lying on the western coast of Great Britain.

After a technical delay, we headed onwards to Lima for our connecting flight back home.

The 13 hours return flight was offered in Bussiness Class today.
