Costa Mesa, CA – Visited the Lyon Air Museum and witnessed the majestic flight of a North American “Mitchell” B-25 Bomber. This particular plane was used for combat patrol flights in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands. After World War II it was used to transport pilots and crew members. What makes this museum so unique is that all aircraft are flight ready. Each aircraft is flown about once a month to keep it “in shape”.
On this day a veteran pilot of a B-25 was at the museum telling stories and answering questions. It was awe inspiring to hear the thunderous roar of the twin engine (1,700 hp) aircraft as its chrome finish reflected the sun and sky when it flew overhead. I can’t image what it must have been like when there were hundreds of these birds peppering the horizon.

The light rail route runs west of Union Pacific Railroad in Southeast Portland. This view looks south from the Bybee Street Bridge towards SE Tacoma Street. The cleared right-of-way with the orange cones is where light rail track will be installed.

Approaching Nubra is a very exciting journey. From Kardung when you start climbing down, everything is in just shades of one colour 'Rust'. Anything between rust to sand colour, even the river shyok. It took us quite a decent into the valley to realise the valley is completely filled with the river and not a clay-ish sand. And then the sky was Blue! Representing these two colours in Black and White.

This train didn't get many clear signals. Most were advance clear to stop signals.
This train had 6 hot axels according to the defect detector in Fabyan
The USS Iowa as seen from the Harbor Breeze tour boat, 2012.
The Iowa was anchored three miles out from the San Pedro harbor. There, crews scrubbed the ship's hull to remove any invasive species or contaminants before it was permanently anchored at Berth 87 in the port of Los Angeles.
