(1&2)This is an application for renewal of inter district regular permit for the period
17-06-2012 to 16-06-2017 and 17-06-2017 to 16-06-2022 in respect of the stage
carriage KL-33-H-9319 on the route Kottayam – Nedumkandam Via Pampady, Ponkunnam, Mundakayam, Elappara, Puliyanmala and Balagram as LSOS from 17/06/2012 having route length of 154 Kms. The renewal application was rejected by RTA idukki on 21/03/2013. The S/C KL 33 H 9319 has regular permit valid up to 16/06/2012 on the route Changanacherry- Nedumkandam. The application for renewal of permit was rejected by RTA, Idukki vide decision dtd.21/03/2013 since the route lengh is 160kms. The permit holder filed MVAA No.207/2013 before the Honorable STAT against the rejection of the renewal of permit. The Honorable STAT allowed to continue the service U/S 214(2)of Motor Vehicle Act.The present position of the MVAA was requested from Honorable STAT and it is intimated that the MVAA is disposed of and the copy of judgment is awaited. The permit holder applied for curtailment of the route from Changanacherry to Kottayam and RTA, Idukki granted variation on 15/02/2017 so the route length at present is 137km only. The permit holder applied for further renewal from 17/06/2017 on 20/01/2017. The matter was considered by RTA on 15.02.2017 and decided to seek concurrence from RTA,Kottayam. RTA,Kottayam granted the concurrence vide order No.G1/4072/2017/K dtd 25.07.2017 subject to the right of original Authority to verify the feasibility with the Government notification vide GO(P) No.8/2017 dtd. 23/03/2017..Hence Renewal of permit is adjourned with direction to Secretary RTA Idukki to obtain the copy of final judgment of Honorable STAT in MVAA No.208/2013 and a modified agenda on the basis of this judgment should be furnished before the next meeting of the RTA.
