Different areas of application of pigments

There are different kinds of pigments for both organic and inorganic variants. These are used in different kinds of applications. Some of the most important areas are as follows:

Printing inks – The printouts that we take from printers also have colored pigments. Infact all kinds of printing inks contain pigments in some form or the other. These are inclusive of printing inks for lacquers, metal foils etc.

Paints – Pigment paste is quite commonly used in paints of all varieties. Right from protective coating paints to decorative coating paints, pigments are used in almost all segments. Other paint applications include emulsion paints, resin and oil based paints, aqueous based paints like lime etc, distempers, automotive finishes etc.

Textile and leather paints – Various kinds of paints are used for garment printing and leather printing. Polyesters and nylons absorb colours in the best manner and retain the same for long period of time.

Whatever be the area of application of the paints, make sure that they are of high quality.

Can hardly notice the manure. This is hot stuff, really active, 112 degrees going into the spreader. You are looking at 100 lbs nitrogen per acre, and trillions of beneficial bugs included. New root production is just firing off and leaf out well in progress. This application of compost will provide for the early Uptake needs, about 10 percent of this years needs. Then 5% of next years, 3 after that, 2 there after until all the nitrogen is gone. As you can see, it will take many years before a significant percentage of the nitrogen demand can be supplied naturally. This dirt is slowly becoming soil again.

Former Lucky Supermarket. This Albertsons previously had a cheaper Jewel/Santa Fe decor application before it was remodeled to Colorful Lifestyle. The Jewel decor was added on, but left behind some of the wall trim from the previous Lucky decor. I'm not sure if this Jewel remodel happened under Albertsons, or if this was one of the few Lucky remodeled before Albertsons took them over.

This store was previously one of the many Lucky stores that had translucent lighting over the registers and the freezer aisles in the center store. Unlike many remodels which included ripping out the lighting and replacing it with the traditional tile ceiling, it looks like the lighting was taken out when it was remodeled to Jewel, and ceiling tiles and tube lighting covered up what was once there. Stater Bros #130 in Palmdale is a good example of what the translucent lighting in Lucky stores looked like, as they chose to leave that lighting in place when they took over a Lucky divest.

In recent decades, developments in software and hardware technologies have created dramatic shifts in design, manufacturing and research. Software technologies have facilitated automated process and new solutions for complex problems. Computation has also become a platform for creativity through generative art and design. New hardware platforms and digital fabrication technologies have similarly transformed manufacturing, offering more efficient production and mass customization. Such advances have helped catalyzed the maker-movement, democratizing design and maker culture. This influx of new capabilities to design, compute and fabricate like never before, has sparked a renewed interest in material performance.

We are now witnessing significant advances in active matter, 3D/4D Printing, materials science, synthetic biology, DNA nanotechnology and soft robotics, which have led to the convergence of software, hardware and material technologies and the growing field of programmable materials.

This conference was about the emerging field of active matter and programmable materials that bridges the worlds of art, science, engineering and design, demonstrating new perspectives for computation, transformation and dynamic material applications.

If over the past few decades we have experienced a software revolution, and more recently, a hardware revolution, this conference aims to discuss the premises, challenges and innovations brought by today’s materials revolution. We can now sense, compute, and actuate with materials alone, just as we could with software and hardware platforms previously. How does this shift influence materials research, and how does it shape the future of design, arts, and industrial applications? What tools and design processes do we need to advance, augment and invent new materials today? What are the key roles that industry, government, academic and public institutions can play in catalyzing the field of programmable materials?

This two-day conference consisted of a range of talks and lively discussion from leading researchers in materials science, art & design, synthetic biology and soft-robotics along with leaders from government, public institutions and industry.

Brief:

Flying Aces is an Android Version of the extremely successful Iphone Application called "Flight Director". It was also the first line drawing game (thats the genre) to be introduced to the android market. Sticky Coding, a newly formed Android Development firm at the time came to us in need of some graphics. We did the whole shebang for this app and love the style.

Summary:

It was great working on flying aces. It was really our first mobile app which meant updating graphics periodically and what not. Personally I really love the fluid nature of an updating program and making new content for patches and updates. I love the style that came out. You can find Flying Aces on the Android Market.
