In recent decades, developments in software and hardware technologies have created dramatic shifts in design, manufacturing and research. Software technologies have facilitated automated process and new solutions for complex problems. Computation has also become a platform for creativity through generative art and design. New hardware platforms and digital fabrication technologies have similarly transformed manufacturing, offering more efficient production and mass customization. Such advances have helped catalyzed the maker-movement, democratizing design and maker culture. This influx of new capabilities to design, compute and fabricate like never before, has sparked a renewed interest in material performance.
We are now witnessing significant advances in active matter, 3D/4D Printing, materials science, synthetic biology, DNA nanotechnology and soft robotics, which have led to the convergence of software, hardware and material technologies and the growing field of programmable materials.
This conference was about the emerging field of active matter and programmable materials that bridges the worlds of art, science, engineering and design, demonstrating new perspectives for computation, transformation and dynamic material applications.
If over the past few decades we have experienced a software revolution, and more recently, a hardware revolution, this conference aims to discuss the premises, challenges and innovations brought by today’s materials revolution. We can now sense, compute, and actuate with materials alone, just as we could with software and hardware platforms previously. How does this shift influence materials research, and how does it shape the future of design, arts, and industrial applications? What tools and design processes do we need to advance, augment and invent new materials today? What are the key roles that industry, government, academic and public institutions can play in catalyzing the field of programmable materials?
This two-day conference consisted of a range of talks and lively discussion from leading researchers in materials science, art & design, synthetic biology and soft-robotics along with leaders from government, public institutions and industry.

Another way the internet can be used by a company is conduct business deals over the internet. For example, suppose there is a bakery which is very famous locally. Of course it will have its fair share of customers. But there might be some people for whom the bakery will be too far. The bakery will thus miss out on a lot of potential customers. But, if the bakery has its own website in which the customers can also order something which the bakery will then deliver to their homes, then the bakery is gaining all those potential customers. This way the profits of the firm are going up. At Young Innovators, we try to give more innovative ideas to our customers so that their firm can have more profits. We have build our reputation on a solid base of service and intend to continue to do so.

Once you have successfully evicted a Tenant, you now have your next hurdle to overcome: What to do with the property the former Tenant(s) left behind? According to most Landlord-Tenancy Law, a Landlord must notify a Tenant if the Landlord wishes to dispose of any property left behind after a Tenant(s) removal. Don't fall victim to evicted Tenant(s) falsifying possessions that you disposed of. Use this form (and a camera) for your protection and put your former Tenant(s) on notice that their possessions will be disposed of after the legally allotted amount of time.

Paint test for the Newborn head sculpt - Alien: Resurrection.
As said, this is a paint test...not much detailing added, it helps me figure what paints necessary, as well as custom mixes that may be needed. Also helps to familiarize myself with the terrain so to speak...so I don't screw up on a final casting. Simply put - it's a practice piece.
There's many interpretations of the creatures skin color - some have it fleshy, pale appearance (like seen in the film), others have a greenish/gray hue. I will stick with the production/prop tones (which is a mix of both) for this piece. Love the dark, soulless eyes...ohhhh eerie!
I have my paint selected, mixed and ready to begin the final application for the sample that will be on display in France during the Caro/Jeunet expo in October. Updates coming soon! #painting #newborn #alien #customactionfigure #monsters

We did a demo of the CakeMail application at BarCampMontreal3 on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Montreal's Society for Arts and Technology. At the same time on the Web, we kicked off our public beta and launched the www.cakemail.com/ website.
BarCampMontreal3 would not have been possible without the efforts of Evan Prodromou, Sylvain Carle, Simon Law and the fine bilingual MC skills of Aleece Germano. So a big thank-you to them, to event sponsors and to the Montreal tech community as a whole, which has been a great source of ongoing feedback for CakeMail's development.

For International Women’s Day 2023, UN Women Sudan teamed up with civil society organizations (CSOs), youth activists, artists, development partners and the UN to host events, raise awareness and galvanize action to bridge the gender digital divide.
The theme for International Women’s Day, 8 March 2023, was, “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality”. This year Sudan marked the main “gender equality” day, which coincides with the 70th anniversary of women’s movement in the country, with a variety of events and activities to honor women's accomplishments, recognize their contributions to society, and advocate for continued efforts toward gender equality. The events allowed young women and women to present and amplify their voices in support of gender equality and women's empowerment.
Pictured: In keeping with the global theme of International Women's Day - DigitAll: Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality - the UN in Sudan and the School of Mathematical Science at the University of Khartoum organized an event to discuss the opportunities and challenges that women face in digital technology and education, as well as the women who are leading the way in transformative technology and digital education. This was followed by a demonstration of innovative digital applications developed by young women from Sudan's School of Mathematics.
