EN : ➡️ Following the positive feedbacks I’ve got from first batch of focusing screens I made 4 years ago, I’ve decided to offer that service to analog photographers!

These ground glasses are polished by hand and not with acid or laser like industrial ones.

This offers an ultra thin grain and a bright screen which is really nice when you work with small depth of field.

You can choose to upgrade your current ground glass, or refurbish an old camera or replace of broken glass.

I try to keep in stock a small batch of standard sizes ground glasses. However, I recommend you to double check the dimensions you need before ordering.

Large format camera makers (Sinar, Toyo, Speed Graphic, Chamonix, Stenopeika, Gibellini , Intrepid, Kodak Deardoff, Shenhao, Wista, Linhof, ArcaSwiss etc...) use different focusing screen sizes!

📏 Use a caliper or a precise ruler to take the measurements of the glass you need. You can slightly adjust the glass later using sandpaper or metal file with a lot of care and gloves!

👷‍♂️ My ground glasses are made by hands, the polishing is a long and exhausting process, some imperfections could be visible (really small scratches). The cuts are <1mm precise too! Overall the result is really good ! Only have positive feedbacks after +1,5k ground glasses made in 4 years ! I regularly make focusing screens for professional large camera makers.

️ For custom size order, please ask the current making-time before placing your oder, I might be travelling or my glass supplier takes some vacations from time to time. I try to do my best to make it quick but I don’t want you to be disappointed by the potential delay. It usually takes two weeks to make a ground glass, more in summer!

📞 I can be contacted through the platform anytime or here :

💸 You can pay through the platform payment service, I also accept Paypal, Lydia, Bank Transfert etc.

📦 I ship all my orders with a lot of care. I protect a lot the glasses in order to avoid any damage.

Every order to France includes tracking.

If you need a tracking number (Europe or Worldwide) it costs €3,2 and you’ll have to drop me a message when you order.

(tracking recommended for Mexico, Russia, Brazil, Chili, Peru etc..).

The answer to an earlier "Where is Queen Waldo" question

This was a commissioned work for a friend of mine - though I had a lot of artistic freedom.

The Sax-blade is made from some carbon steel (nothing special) and is the only thing I could not manufacture myself so I got it from a friend. So do not ask me questions about the blade - my answers will be quite unsatisfying ;)

The handle is made from some very interesting materials.

The first part is some usual deer antler. But the way I used it shall remind a bit on the shape of bronze age swords.

Then there are the intermediate pieces of leather.

The next part is oak - moor oak to be precise. This means, this piece of wood could easily be around 5000 years old...

After the next piece of leather, there is a piece of oak again.

But a special one again!

Some of you may know the story about the Donar-Oak (Donareiche) which was a sacred place for the Chatti and other ancient germanic tribes of central Germany.

In the year 723 Bonifatius had the oak felled in an attempt to convey the superiority of the Christian God over Thor and the native Germanic religion.

However, and this part is not told by common history pages, the germanic people did not renunciate directly after christianisation and planted a new oak which stood there until the mid of the last century. Only few people know about the place where the remains of this ancient tree can be found.

And this handle is made of it's wood!

If you don't believe this (I swear that I do it!) it may just be a piece of a very very old common german oak...

The sheath is made from veg tanned leather as all my leather works - the viking design is an own one and the Wolfangel is part of the family crest of my friend who got this wonderful piece...

Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins Holds Second Town Hall Meeting to Address Police Shootings

(Dallas, TX – September 9, 2014) Officer-involved shootings and confrontations with police have been in the forefront of news reports across the nation and in North Texas – leading to criticism of law enforcement’s handling of these disconcerting cases.

Dallas County District Attorney Craig Watkins aims to bring the community together to discuss solutions to improve the criminal justice system by hosting another town hall meeting 7 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Friendship West Baptist Church, 2020 W. Wheatland Rd., Dallas, Texas. The nationally recognized pastor of FWBC, Frederick Haynes III, will moderate the town hall meeting. Pastor Haynes is currently involved in the coordinated effort to bridge the gap of distrust between Missouri residents and the Ferguson Police Department in light of the recent Mike Brown shooting.

As a result of the concerns surrounding the use of excessive force, we want the community to be confident that Dallas County is taking proactive measures. DA Watkins recently announced the creation of the first ever Civil Rights Unit at the Dallas County DA’s office to independently investigate police shootings and provide additional oversight.

“The plan right now is for one prosecutor and one investigator to go to the scene of any officer-involved shooting and conduct follow-up interviews with witnesses. The new Civil Rights Unit will help expedite the process of getting the case to an independent grand jury,” said DA Watkins.

Dallas Police Chief David Brown and Sheriff Lupe Valdez will once again co-host the town hall meeting to answer questions and discuss plans of action designed to prevent police misconduct. “The keys to public trust are transparency, honesty, and community engagement. We are committed to continuing our ongoing dialogue with the community to foster improved relations with the citizens that we serve,” said Chief Brown.

The National Bar Association and J. L. Turner Legal Association members will be present to provide additional information to ensure everyone knows their rights. The goal of the town hall meeting is to encourage positive interaction regarding policing, so citizens will respect the badge – rather than fear it.

The PCB was drilled for the extra transistor and resistor and these components fitted and soldered in place.

Although I haven't shown the track side, 3 of the 5 new leads (3 on the transistor, 2 on the resistor) are on existing tracks, the other 2 could be bent to connect to the right points very easily. This was therefore a simple and neat modification

My family and I have been praying for a home now for almost a mouth but now the LORD has answered a prayer with a home. Praise the LORD.

The 4 core cable is connected to a toggle switch (microphone enable) and a pushbutton (tape contact).

Clearly the answer was "yes". It should've been a no-brainer to run across some of South Dakota's finest territory after we had been hammered by the clouds the whole rest of the way up Wall Hill.

Train 470 (with 471's power acting as helpers) dukes it out with Wall Hill at a speed limit of 10 mph; this is the PRC Sub at its finest. That's Interstate 90 in the background.

The answer to trying to park in San Francisco. Here I am in the courtyard of my client's townhouse. No parking here except for residents. She's a bicycle advocate, too, and a former owner of GMs EV1, their electric car. I'm on my way to a downtown office building where my parking tab is usually $27.50. The company pays for parking, so they shouldn't mind paying my $7 train ticket instead.

WHAT THE HELL did Shock Drop's Account get deleted?

A large shed on Callaway Road in Franklin County, Virginia. The home is a trailer down the road with the most colorful flower garden. Lots of bright reds, yellows and pinks. A very severe looking older man lives there. Every time I pass the place in the spring and summer, I want to stop and look at the flowers.

2015 - Amber's questions answered on the first day of school.

i used to wonder when i was younger why didnt ariel just write eric like explaining now after some time i fiinnaly found the answer :P

ariel:"Dear Eric, I'm actually a Mermaid Princess from the Sea. My beefcake father is an embittered, right wring racist who threw a fit when he found my secret horde of fetishistic treasure which included a statue of you. After this, I sold my soul and my voice to a fat purple octopus witch despite the protestations of my best friends - a racially stereotyped crab and an age inappropriate gay fish. Now I have to get you to fall in love with me in the space of 72 hours." THAT'S WHY.

The Great Limerick Run 2015 (Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay, and 6 Mile) races were held in Limerick City, Ireland on Sunday 3rd of May 2014 starting at 09:00. This was a very large mass participation event which is now firmly established on the Irish running calendar. These are a set of a photographs from: the start of the marathon, the mile 2 mark of the mark, the half way point of the marathon (to about a 3:40 finishing time), a selection from mile 20 of the marathon. These sets of photographs will not include every competitor. The official results are available here [www.tdl.ltd.uk/] and the official race website is available at [www.greatlimerickrun.com/] These are not offical race photographs.

BUT..... Wait there a minute....

We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.

This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.

I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?

You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.

I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?

If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.

Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.

Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.

I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?

Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs

We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?

The explaination is very simple.

Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.

ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:

►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera

►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set

►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone

►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!

You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Don't like your photograph here?

That's OK! We understand!

If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.

I want to tell people about these great photographs!

Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

Success of the LA Conservation Corps’ Paddle the LA River program is well documented. One of the program tenets is access to the river. To answer that call, program partner the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority developed ‘River Access for All,’ which offers kayak outings on rafts that can accommodate challenged children and adults and those with limited mobility.

“We wanted the boating experience to not be limited to a select group of people who can pay to paddle the Los Angeles River so we also required groups to submit a plan on community involvement and outreach,” said Lisa Sandoval, District realty specialist.

The program was booked solid as soon as it was announced and openings are rare, but with little more than a week before the final trip of the season, MRCA had a vacancy. After consulting with another program partner, Friends of the LA River, a call was made to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Los Angeles District.

“When the call came in from FoLAR that space was suddenly available in the MRCA program, one group came to mind,” said Jennie Ayala District outreach Coordinator and STEM program manager. “I remembered the passion of Tova and Sterling Barbour of the Veterans Advocacy Group of America. They’d contacted me for USACE support on an educational program they offer to veterans’ children.”

VAGA also reached out through veteran channels and in keeping with tradition, were able to fully book the opportunity for a group of veterans.

“One thing that we like to do is to give back, to see our veterans out here; the smile on their faces just means so much,” said Sterling. “Next year we are definitely going to do this again for our veterans, because it is so wonderful.”

These veterans were fairly ambulatory, although many still showed physical signs of their injuries, making them perfect candidates for the new program.

“With our inflatable rafts we’re able to accommodate various disabilities, we’ve had a variety of organizations come out,” said Fernando Gomez, Chief Ranger of the MRCA. “Today, VAGA was able to participate; one individual was blind and we had our first service dog. Because the KaBoat platform is so stable and if they aren’t able to paddle, they can leave it to the rangers.”

As a fully committed partner to the city’s Los Angeles River Revitalization Master Plan, the District’s own work on river ecosystem restoration plans to restore natural habitat where appropriate, improve water quality and enhance recreational benefits, all while maintaining its primary mission of flood damage reduction.
