Stop Motion 2

This was a rejected concept for an animation. The client opted to go for a full 3D character. Which is cool, but it would have been fun to play with the "paper doll" feel.

A hand drawn animation, paper and pencil. 200 frames scanned into an Adobe Premiere project. Sound effects from free sources on Youtube. Done in December 2020.

Computer animation has been part of the Prix Ars Electronica since its inception in 1987, and it continues to evolve in an extremely dynamic way. This category focuses on works that explore and experiment with visual expression at the intersection of animation, art and technology.

Animation offers the user the opportunity to see and query changes spatial patterns. Depending on the nature of the data one can apply different design techniques, or change the viewpoint on the data. Animation will offer a better insight to mapped phenomena. However, this will only work when the user environment has the proper options for interaction. In an exploratory environment the animation will be one of the strong alterative views on the data that supports knowledge discovery.
