i've never met Ryan Wolf ....(IRL)

we started out chatting thru emails...visiting eachothers fotos on flickr.....being amused by the quirky foto projects...he .. the lillipution people... ..me my 100 possibilties.....& most recently "friended eachother on FB".

He is prolly as big of a softie when it comes to animals as i am.....& i was really sad for him when he lost his lil girl-rat last yr.....he is always kind enough to boost my ego by complimenting my work....& reminds me often how daily life can be beautiful thru the right lens.

i came home last nite from running errands & found this lil package in my mailbox......squeee!~

what could be more special than the lil extendable lenscloth on a clip (& that IS pretty dang kewl).....is that he took the time to pick out these cute /useful & amusing items....& mailed them =)

thank you Ryan...u have no idea how much i needed surprise pressies in the mail this time of yr ....((even if i think there may not be enough mints in that tin to save me....))

U ROCK!~

oh shit....was i suppose to wait to open these??

This charming amuse-bouche was a bit of a last minute inspiration: a funky pasta I have in my cupboard just itching to be used, a visit to "goodies" (a local meditteranean shop) where I found haloumi, discovering a source of relatively inexpensive serrano ham, and the dinner party itself. The result was this simple, colourful and delectable medly, which I encourage you to try - I promise it is easy and scrummy.

Two signs that tickle my fancy (neither of them are my photo - sent by friends), but I created the collage.

Toni has been out of town for Thanksgiving, with little/no internet access. Which means, she took her photos early...leaving me to choose things to match.

I LOVE this shot of Toni's. Love it!

But amuse was difficult for me. I know this cake looks "delicious" (it was!), but I took the shot strictly for "amused." You see, we never buy cakes for birthdays. But this year, I've enjoyed the Cake Wrecks blog so much, that I requested a purchased cake. This amuses me. As in, my sister and I were giggling as we bought it. Silly, I know.

In 1911, Vincenzo Peruggia, a worker at the Louvre, committed the crime of the century by walking out with the Mona Lisa hidden under his coat. Peruggia then spent two years in his Paris apartment alone with the mysteriously smiling woman as his muse. But was he an Italian patriot who believed “La Gioconda” should be returned to her native Italy? Or was he a not-so-common thief seeking his fortune?

Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece has attracted, inspired, and perplexed millions of admirers across generations and continents but what makes the Mona Lisa so special? Was it her theft alone that brought her the world’s attention? Meet Vincenzo and others affected by the smiling lady in this intriguing whydunnit.
