Pasterze is the longest glacier in Austria and in the Eastern Alps, at approximately 9 km in length, reaching from 3,463 m to 2,100 m above sea level. It lies in the Hohe Tauern mountain range directly beneath Austria's highest mountain, the Großglockner.

The Matterhorn has a truly distinctive shape from every angle. This is the view from the northwest, where you can see the famous "shoulder" which is usually hidden from view when you see the more famous angle from Zermatt (northeast).
