This is one of the nicest joypad/keyboard combos I've used (anyone remember the ridiculous Gamecube ASCII keyboard controller!?). The 360 has MSN built right in to the console, so whilst you're playing a game you can send messages to other nerds, or friends whilst they're working. The keyboard is actually an add-on to a standard joypad and sort of clips on to it. Pretty clever to have thought of this ahead of time seeing as the PSP is still awaiting a keyboard three years on.
I'm new to the whole Xbox thing, but loving it so far. I've not played online yet, too busy trying to complete GTA IV.

Conference Pears - "everyone is talking about them"... Sorry, couldn't help myself.
This variety of pear was developed in Britain by Thomas Rivers. It owes its name to the fact that it won first prize at the National British Pear Conference in London in 1885.
They are up in the fields looking for that last bit of winter grain. Very slim but not starving would be my guess. I nearly collided with one such deer on this shoot but at the last moment the deer and I hit the brakes - it was close.
My long range lens on this shot - I am not happy with this lens because the clarity isn't there on my shots or maybe I don't know how to use the lens.

Erbalunga est un village ancien de caractère sur le littoral, remarquable par sa tour génoise ruinée construite au xvie siècle sur un rocher à l'entrée de son port, classée aux Monuments Historiques. Il a été habité dès le xvie siècle avec son château féodal. Erbalunga (on trouve aussi l'orthographe Herbalunga) et ses environs immédiats formaient un fief créé en 1438 à la mort de Mathieu De Gentile.
Erbalunga est aujourd'hui une marine agréable dans un site remarquable. Il est formé des quartiers de Poggiolo et de Curcianella au sud. Au nord sont les quartiers de Foce et de Sicolu. Les quartiers du vieil Erbalunga portent les noms de Calellu, Torre, Cima, Trave, Scalu, Casanova, Piandifora et Concia. Les maisons anciennes ont été construites autour de la marine d'Erbalunga, un petit port de pêche qui fut un des principaux ports de l'île du xiie siècle au xviiie siècle.
À l'entrée de la marine se dresse la tour d'Erbalunga, reconstruite à la fin du xvie siècle, partiellement ruinée.
Le village est devenu au fil du temps un repaire chic où artistes et notables y ont élus domicile.
On y trouve l'école, la mairie ainsi que la plupart des commerces de Brando. L'église Saint-Érasme (saint patron des marins) du xviie siècle s'orne d'une façade baroque. La marine abrite également la chapelle du cimetière Madona del Carmine.

Cuatro menores que se encontraban desaparecidos fueron rescatados en
operativos realizados por la Policía Nacional Civil a través del sistema Alba Keneth que fue activado junto con otras instituciones que participan.
Caso 1
En el interior del lote 18, sector 7, asentamiento Santa Faz, zona 6, fue encontrado un menor de 13 años, que se encontraba desaparecido, los progenitores presentaron la denuncia a la PNC, quienes lograron la localización del menor siendo entregado a la Procuraduría General de la Nación quien se hizo cargo de la custodia.
Caso 2
Un menor de 16 años, fue localizado en una casa de la 21 calle, 35-01, zona 5, en el lugar se rescató al menor quien se encontraba desaparecido desde el 14 de Agosto, la alerta Alba Keneth fue activada y su localización, fue 36 horas después de haber desaparecido.
Caso 3
Una menor de 12 años, fue encontrada en el parque central de Villa
Canales, esta se encontraba desaparecida y los padres presentaron la denuncia a la Policía Nacional Civil habiéndose activado la alerta lográndose la localización de la menor y entregada a la PGN quien se hizo cargo de la custodia de la menor.
Caso 4
En el Cantón Ciénaga Grande, Cantón El Paraíso, de San José Pinula, fue localizado un menor de 16 años, quien se encontraba desaparecido.

Nestor alerta prefeitos sobre dificuldades para prestar contas após fim do mandato
Um alerta sobre as dificuldades que os prefeitos enfrentarão para prestar contas após concluírem os mandatos que se encerram neste ano foi feito nesta sexta-feira (14 de fevereiro), pelo presidente do Tribunal de Contas do Estado do Paraná. O conselheiro Nestor Baptista fez a abertura do terceiro seminário de orientação sobre as obrigações do encerramento de mandato realizado pela Corte, em Santa Helena, no Oeste do Paraná. O seminário Entrega de Contas, Plano Anual de Fiscalização e Encerramento de Mandato foi organizado pela Escola de Gestão Pública do TCE-PR, com apoio da prefeitura local.
Falando para 400 participantes, o presidente do TCE-PR afirmou que, por questões políticas, o prefeito, ao deixar o mandato, nem sempre volta a ter acesso à documentação de sua gestão, o que acaba inviabilizando a prestação correta de suas contas perante o Tribunal. "Conheço alguns prefeitos que hoje sobrevivem de salário mínimo, após perderem tudo o que tinham tentando acertar as contas de seu mandato, daí a importância destes seminários que estamos levando a todas as regiões do Paraná", declarou.
Qualificação
O conselheiro destacou a importância de os gestores se cercarem de profissionais qualificados e prestarem a devida atenção aos aspectos operacionais da administração. "O Tribunal de Contas deve ser visto como um parceiro da administração, que quer bem servir a população e está aqui para ajudá-los da melhor maneira possível", completou. Após a abertura do seminário, Nestor Baptista reuniu-se com os prefeitos participantes para ouvir sugestões e tirar dúvidas. A iniciativa faz parte do Programa Tribunal Itinerante.
O Manual de Encerramento de Mandato 2020 está disponível no portal do TCE-PR na internet. O material visa orientar os gestores e servidores municipais a respeito de normas e diretrizes legais que devem ser seguidas no último ano de gestão, para evitar problemas na hora de prestar contas ao Tribunal.

i've managed to trip the fire alarm last night. i was waken up by the piercing tone. initially i could not identify its source but then i saw some smoke in the corridor and noticed that the sensor is blinking red. It was not a friendly wakeup!
Source of the smoke turned out to be trivial - i've turned up a heater that was not used for long time and when thermostat switched it on sometime in the night, it started to burn away some dust that accumulated on the heating element.
i was scared, but anyway, even though there was no immediate danger, the alert definitely wasn't false. so i mark my belgian fire drill as "completed"
The coppersmith barbet or the crimson crested barbet (Megalaima haemacephala) peeping out of its nest hole before getting out on the food foraging trip. Being the time of their nesting season, these were very busy looking around for food. This fellow was watching around his nest carefully, which is in the tree hole, for predators and other before entering into the hole to greet his family.
