No synonym for God is so perfect as Beauty. Whether as seen carving the lines of the mountains with glaciers, or gathering matter into stars, or planning the movements of water, or gardening - still all is Beauty! John Muir

This beautiful pink rose bloom was defying the weather and the Winter season and was still blooming. It's beauty was enhanced by the raindrops on the petals.

Another Incredible Nebraska Skyscape. Beautiful July ambient light, against a dying thunderstorm. Nope it's not severe but it's what I do when the light is right. Plus, I was super sick... A few days away from being forced into the hospital. I'm better now, and thankful.. that's a story to come!

I honestly took extra time on these captures. I was using a new filter on my new lens. So no added color or any adjustments to the image in Photoshop on this set. Now I had to bring them through Photoshop from raw... but that's it and of course the pano's are done separately.

Also... I only had one camera...for video that evening. Otherwise you would have seen this first storm cross over and you would have seen some sweet Nebraska thunderstorm views. Just to the east southeast. July Mammatus... these are just as sweet as this video... Just captures though...These have been added to this set.

It seemed the sicker I got, the better the photography I took... It was only about 10 days till I was forced into the hospital. I shouldn't have been out. But you don't get captures like this if you don't go try to catch them...

I was sick but had a blast, and what I caught was just Awesome!

This blue dasher dragonfly is perched on the fence around the vegetable garden at the farm. Behind it is a cluster of dahlia blossoms.

I made it out today for the first time for a little while which was great. Unfortunately what wasn’t great was I left it a little late in the day to start shooting. I was literally in a race against Mother Nature as the light faded. I had originally planned another shot in my head only to find out when I got there that the sun was in the wrong place for the shot I wanted. Luckily I came across this shot and the light was just perfect. In saying that In Scotland during autumn honestly the light can change very fast and by the time I had taken my third attempt trying to catch the leave and the light just right the sun had nearly disappeared. Unfortunately with the disabilities I have it can often affect my energy levels so I feel I miss the best light to shoot at, but I have to be grateful for the luxury of being able to get out once in a while I guess.

...so with no car, decided to go local, stuck a 35mm prime on my old Nikon and set off....unfortunately I chose a lens which has a problem...it sticks wide open at f1.8....ah well, necessity is the mother of invention....but really only managed this...a gnarly old Oak against a plantation of pines.

zurich rosengartenstrasse, november 2010

in November, 2015, I spent 14 days in Antarctica watching icebergs and penguins, most of the time I left my 400mm on the ship because of its weight, but on one of the landing trip, I brought my telephoto lens and monopod and captured this interesting moment, a penguin walking against big wind gust, showing its courage.

We've all had days similar to this, haven't we? We will persevere.

Water lilies, those ethereal blooms that grace the tranquil surfaces of ponds and slow-moving streams, are nature's living poetry. Their delicate petals, like frosted glass, rest upon emerald lily pads, creating a serene tableau. Yet, beneath their fragile beauty lies resilience, for these aquatic marvels rise above the muddy depths from which they grow. They symbolize transformation, as they emerge from the darkness into the light, unfurling their petals as if to greet the sun. In their simplicity, water lilies remind us that even in the murkiest of waters, there is the potential for exquisite beauty and graceful rebirth, a lesson in serenity and the art of flourishing against all odds.

Wheat harvest between the showers in Essex

She cradled the Yule candle, its golden flame flickering gently against the soft twilight. Snowflakes drifted from the heavens, melting as they brushed her leather armor. Her breath hung in the air, a pale mist, as she moved through the serene forest, each step muffled by the blanket of snow. The light of the candle illuminated her path, casting a warm glow on the crystalline trees. She paused at a clearing, holding the flame high, its brilliance a beacon of hope. Whispering an ancient blessing to the winter night, she smiled as the world seemed to breathe in harmony.
