It's raining cats and dogs and when I am going out early it's dark. Yesterday till 10h. Horrible- November blues!
And when I noticed it can't be so for the rest of the day I made some colourful boats, walking to the next road and let them flew downhill. A bus arrived, stopped and was watching the tiny boats as well and..... was smiling!
Any other ideas?

Light catching some bulrushes
Snowy Egret, Alligator Breeding Marsh and Wading Bird Rookery, Gatorland, Orlando, Florida. Title lyrics from the song of the same name by Bob Seger.
I had a good morning with the Cormorant a few weeks ago. Photographers’ (me included) are oft heard exclaiming “Look at that light!” . When I was teaching birds in flight one of my suggestions was to find a background that might get a good subject. Subjects are like magnets, and for good reason, and act as the siren song luring the camera away from the gold. In this case, the light reflecting on the water was where there was a good chance I might get a cormorant bringing home nesting material. They were working hard that morning, usually flying too far above the water, but there was a chance. And yes, I hit gold a few times, this being one of my favorites. Here's a little landscape from our local park, on this nice sunny day. It was lovely for Marnie and me to escape just for a little while into the freshness of an early February morning. The sense of freedom was wonderful ! Troubles and worries simply dropped away for bit.

Two bison in linzgau faced against the wind - by the way an extraordinary song by Bob Seeger.

The vast coastal dune fields of Namibia, Africa, are home to beautiful wildlife, such as this Springbok, sprinting up one of the dunes. They are specially adapted to this area, and can eat a plant rich in water, but bitter, which their own species in other parts of Namibia would not be able to tolerate.
They have a name:
Daliah Miller

A HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL PROJECT

The emotions aroused by the conscience further arouse the imagination, awakening the image “of some person, to whom our love and veneration look, in whose smile we find our happiness, for whom we yearn … in whose anger we are troubled and waste away”—in a word, “the image of the good God.”
-Sophia, The Hidden Christ of Thomas Merton, Christopher Pramuk
Yesterday was a mixed weather day: mostly nice, with an occasional shower. There were dark clouds to the North, affording a backdrop for the several rainbows I enjoyed while on my walk. I had a long lens, so made do with what I could: narrow scope, but lots of color!
Wassaic, NY
The Wassaic Project, a rare survivor among the stately wood-crib elevators that once towered over rural America, this 105-foot-tall structure has been reincarnated as one of the strangest new homes for contemporary art in the Northeast, a place that feels like a Lower East Side gallery transplanted into a treehouse, redolent of damp pine and the animal feed that once filled the spaces.
