Last night, some idiot put the dumpsters behind our office building on fire. This is what was left after the firefighters had cleared the scene.

They're old buildings in Main Street. Flooded premises have to have all their plaster stripped off, and here we get a rare glimpse of the rough, rubble stonework below. Notice also the nice archway leading towards the back of the building.

Aftermath, this is the back of the buillding. Everyone in this building was evacuated last night and is in hotels. Even though my apartment is on the top right hand corner of this picture, we are in another building and use a different stairway, so we are all ok.
Here is where the leak started. Then as they were trying to attach a drain hose the whole knob popped off and all the hot water came out and onto the carpet. What a mess. Mind you we still had no lights.

This block of flats in the Edgbaston shopping centre was blown up this morning. I missed the demolition, but saw the results!
