This is a Brownie trout, caught in the NW of England by my mum. Made a lovely dinner.

The day after the G20 riots, we walked around downtown to witness the aftermath. Most of the smashed windows were already boarded up. Most of those stores were closed, but a few remained bravely open.

Here, about 16 hours after the high tide on the full moon, you can see stranded and exhausted horseshoe crabs and an outlying bar full of feeding sanderlings and laughing gulls. Try as I might, I can't find a Red Knot among them.

Lompoc had a fire near Ken Adams park that burned a few acres near HWY 101 (H street).

The old, disused Methodist chapel on Lambert Street has burned down. Accident, malice or greed? Unknown (other than by the perpetrator) as of now.

Here's the shell of the building that burnt last night at Baker Oil Company in Orleans, Indiana.

All the necessary fuel -- Red Bull, Gatorade, vodka, and beer in a paper bag. At Track-O-Rama, a block party at the Bicycle Film Festival, Saturday May 13. See the set.

Fire engulfed an old derelict motel last night during a snow storm. It burned very quickly and couldn't be saved. The following morning it was already being torn down. Behind it you can see an old heritage home that is also abandonded and derelict. Once it was a beautiful brick structure with a unique patio bult from smooth river rock. It was the first brick building built in Port Alberni.

Another aftermath photo. The compression ruined the color but at least I caught her in a quiet moment. I had a photographer take pictures of the real party...but I am not sure I want to see them. I will post them when I get them.

Nepal, Kathmandu, Aftermath, Eartquake, July 2015

The detail looks much better when the image is viewed larger.

This is a small scene from a large wasteland left by the tornado from Wednesday evening in Tuscaloosa, AL. My family and I live in Northport, just north of Tuscaloosa, so we were safe during the chaos. It's almost overwhelming looking out over the devastation around Forest Lake. My friend, Matt Shannon, and I picked up some Chinese friends of his and headed over to these neighborhoods to help move tree branches, limbs, trunks, and debris. Today was day one of what could be months of recovery. I ask that the church be in prayer for all those affected.

four of my husband's high school buddies invaded my wee little house last saturday. needless to say, they drank. a lot. this is what I woke up to sunday morning...a kitchen full of empties and puke on my crate and barrel sofa. I was not pleased...

This is the aftermath.. A very cool bright yellow/orange sky!

Yesterday I went to Strathewen to meet with Wes and Paul for Aftermath, a new project about recovery from natural disasters. Wes spoke of building a home after the one they were living in was destroyed, Paul brought me up to speed with the Tree Project and I saw many of Marion's glowing letterboxes
