Peachtree Road Race - July 4, 2002

Aka: The reason I don't French braid my hair.

On a relatively desolate Williamsburg Bridge, looking toward Manhattan

Financial District, Manhattan

This giant tree limb came down on the neighborhood power lines and caused a seven-hour outage. We have said for years that this tree was an accident waiting to happen, and it finally did.

Unfortunately Ferrelyn just didnt know when to have that last cocktail.....actually I accidentally hit her leg when I was shooting some pics...she came crashing down..luckily no damage

This is the aftermath from "Beauty emerges from Destruction"

This is an HDR from 3 exposures -/+2EV. It's not really too much processed. I wasn't really trying to do much with this.

Purpose of this shot is to just show the senseless destruction of nature. I know logging creates some jobs but still. It's just wrong to destroy trees for no reason other then financial gain.

He's cleaned as much as would/could be possible, without now, we suspect the need to dremel/buff out the remainder, to try and eliminate any possible high/low resistive shorts.

Hurricane Irene swept through the Northeast on the 28th Nov, and here in Vermont, many have still not recovered from the aftermath. In many ways, it was a shock to Vermont because no one expected it to be this bad. Before it hit, a lot of attention was given to North Carolina because that's where the Hurricane would land and New York had declared a state of emergency. In the end, Vermont was one of the states caught most off guard when sections of roads and, buildings were damaged or destroyed by the resulting flood. In particular hundreds of covered bridges of Vermont, which are of particular significance historically to the state, were destroyed. The resulting flood is being recognized as the worse since 1827 in Vermont. I would've loved to document the human dimension of the destruction, but having a day job is not conducive to being out and about talking to people. Instead I took some pictures of a local business, which had its first floor completely flooded. They were lucky enough to be able to remove sections of the floors and walls to rebuild their space. This is part of the floor of the 100 year old building.

The LDS Church was still building its conference center when the tornado hit. The styrofoam cement forms were thrown for miles. An amusing part was the workers in white who popped up on top of the temple while we were touring through that section of town. It was like something out of the old Battle Star Gallactica.

Somebody missed a turn.

Early this morning, a house burned down north of Marble Falls, TX. Now it's time for "mopping up."

This is a panorama I took with my Treo.

This is the aftermath of today's networking meeting. It's whats left on the table. The waitress already cleared most of the dishes.

My tears have been my food day and night,

while people say to me all day long,

"Where is your God?"
