It always amazes me what can transpire after the sun goes down if you are patient enough to wait. Holland State Park on a beautiful October evening.
With no electricity, phone or cell phone signal, I decided to leave my cold, dark house and explore the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in my neighborhood.

In March 2013, there was a fire burning in the Alpine national park in Victoria near Harrietteville. There was no lost of live, but this is not always the case.

3 weeks later after the terrible sleet.
Devastating sleet, which has been crushing trees under its weight all over the country, has caused the largest catastrophe ever to hit Slovenian forests.
According to early estimates as many as 500,000 hectares are damaged, i.e. almost half of all Slovenian forests. The total volume of fallen wood amounts to 4 million cubic metres, which equals the entire average annual harvest. What is more, since the current conditions do not allow forestry teams to estimate the damage on the spot, the estimated numbers are not final.
Very energetic, fun set with new and old songs by Quasi at last night's Oregon Rocks! (an exhibit at the Oregon Historical Society with Dill Pickle Club). Janet's bass drum was busted by the stand-in drummer with the Kingsmen (no kidding), so she borrowed one from Pierced Arrows.
During the last song (R&B Transmogrification), they played hard and Sam was not only humping his keyboard, but smashing his face on the keys, hitting with both fists, and eventually falling across the whole thing - causing it to fall mostly off the stand. Oh course, he got down on his knees to keep playing along with Janet's aggressive solo. So rad.
One of the best parts - the keyboard is marked "Fragile Musical Instrument."
Thanks former roommate + friends! The best part was the Bud Light bottle stickers meticulously peeled off the bottles and stuck on the FURNITURE.
Local wrestler Mikey Metaxas had an open challenge and after "Juggernaut" Jason Axe lost in the heavyweight title match, he accepted the challenge and took out his frustrations on Metaxas.
Curd rice, chapatti, fizzy apple juice, water, and buttermilk that I didn't drink, all for 42 rupees (a buck).
I tried to find the most mild food I could in the cafeteria, to settle the grief in my gut. But you can't get, in an Indian company's cafeteria, both "mild" and "dairy-free." Hoping the yogurt on the rice has little enough lactose to pass without problems...
