A fresh second-brood mating par on a windy hillside at Prestbury Hill near Cheltenham (UK) (9353)

Por su apariencia me parecía una amapola Papaver sp. pero tras los doctos comentarios de Mª Africa y Jesús, se trata de una Adonis sp, posiblemente Adonis aestivalis. En Monegros Adonis aestivalis squarrosa.

Adonis sp.

From its appearance it seemed to me a poppy Papaver sp. but after the learned comments of Maria Africa and Jesus, it is an Adonis sp, possibly Adonis aestivalis.

Compton Down, Dorset.

Good numbers at this scenic site today, very very hot which meant the Adonis didn't want to perch for a open wing capture.

Amazing Aventador in Oro Adonis at the Hyatt in Monterey....looked fantastic! The Bentley in a similar shade of gold; not so much. Much better than the rubbish I've posted recently in my opinion, and that being said, what do you guys think? Aside from the crappy cloning I actually like it.

A fresh male basking in the morning sunshine on the hillside at Aston Rowant in the Chilterns (UK) - breezy conditions always add to the challenge of getting a fully open-wing shot!

A male Adonis Blue (Polyommatus bellargus) I photographed a while ago during a bird ringing session. Sometimes the bird to ringer ratio is quite low, so there's time to do other fun activities such as chasing butterflies!

A rather nicely marked one with the merging spots.

This tiny flower is one of the most interesting in our backyard, but also the most difficult to take decent pictures of. That dark red colour messes up all camera settings.
