Such a contrast against the female, this male's electric blue is unmissable.
Taken in my backyard, SLC, Utah 2009.

The female Adonis Blue is very similar to the female Chalkhill Blue. The main difference being the Adonis has blue hindwing scales. The Chalkhill has slightly larger spots with black edging.
At long last they are out and about, the Adonis Blue butterfly at Durlston Country Park. Not the best shot, they don't sit for long, so have to count myself lucky I got one:)
