With snow forecast for in three days' time, I knew I had better get out on perhaps one last drive today before our world turns white. So far, the snow is forecast for 22 - 26, 28, 31 October and 2 November. Yuck!
There are several old barns that I try and see every one or two years. I saw most of them, though my time was cut short when I got completely lost. It was the first time I had ever driven one of the highways, but now I know where Blackfoot Crossing is! Retraced my drive all the way south again till I reached familar surroundings.
The following day, yesterday, 20 October, I had to go for another deep-muscle massage to help my painful shoulders and knees. Talk about agony, especially while my glutes were being worked on : ) So, today, needs to be a day of rest. Looks like snow is forecast for tonight, in which case, tomorrow will be another day of rest at home. Almost a week of snow expected. but the following week looks much better. Hoping that any snow that falls will melt rapidly!
The Jesuit Church (German: Jesuitenkirche), also known as the University Church (German: Universitätskirche), is a two-floor, double-tower church in Vienna, Austria. Influenced by early Baroque principles, the church was remodeled by Andrea Pozzo between 1703 and 1705. The Jesuit Church is located on Dr. Ignaz Seipel-Platz, immediately adjacent to the old University of Vienna buildings.
The Jesuit Church was built between 1623 and 1627 on the site of an earlier chapel, at the time when the Jesuits merged their own college with the University of Vienna's philosophy and theology faculty. The emperor broke ground for both college and church, with the church itself dedicated to Saints Ignatius Loyola and Francis Xavier.
In 1703, Brother Andrea Pozzo, S.J., an architect, painter, and sculptor, and a master in the quadratura, was requested by Emperor Leopold I to redecorate the church. He added twin towers and reworked the façade in an early Baroque style with narrow horizontal and vertical sections. The design of the windows, narrow niches (with statues), and the small central part of the façade deviate from the Baroque style of the towers. Pozzo died unexpectedly in 1709, just before he was to move to Venice, and was buried in the church.
After the completion of the work, the church was re-dedicated to the Assumption of Mary.
The Château de la Napoule is a restored French castle, located in Mandelieu-la-Napoule in the Alpes-Maritimes Department of France, It has been classified as an historical landmark since 1993, and the gardens are listed by the French Ministry of Culture as among the Notable gardens of France. It was featured as one of the main locations in the 1999 movie Simon Sez.
The castle was constructed in the 14th century by the Countess of Villeneuve. Over the centuries it was rebuilt several times. In the 19th century it was turned into a glass factory. In 1918, it was purchased by Americans, Henry Clews Jr. and Marie Clews (1880-1959), who restored and moved into the castle. They added additional sections in their own personal style, with sculptures by Henry Clews Jr. The castle is owned by the La Napoule Art Foundation, which was founded in 1951 by Marie Clews, and serves as a cultural centre.
After Henry's death and during the Second World War, the castle was captured by German soldiers. Marie Clews served the soldiers by acting as the maid of the castle's staff so she could stay close to her home and the memory of her husband.
When the Clewses acquired the castle, the park had cedar and eucalyptus trees, and had been abandoned for years. Marie Clews began the restoration of the gardens. The park of the castle today has elements of a garden à la française and of an English landscape garden, with a grand alley, basins, perspectives, and views of the sea. In addition, there are three smaller gardens in the Italian style: the Garden de la Mancha next to the Tower of La Mancha, under which the mausoleum of the Clews family is located; the terraces which overlook the Bay of Cannes, which are planted with cypress trees, hedges and rosemary; and the secret garden, in a corner of the walls with windows looking at the sea, with a Venetian well in the centre.

The name, ‘Angel Falls’, taken from Jimmie Angel, an aviator who flew over the mountain in 1933. The waterfall is also known as Kerepakupai Vena, in Pemon language, which means ‘waterfall deepest place’. Angel Falls is part of the Canaima National Park in Venezuela, a UNESCO World Heritage site, designated in 1994.

This waterfall is almost entirely from snow melt, which can cause the water to become less or even stops, at certain times of the year.
Kaieteur Falls – Guyana
Kaieteur Falls with a high volume of water, waterfalls waterfalls located in Guyana Kaieteur part of the National Park. At an altitude of 741ft (226m), has the bulk of the largest waterfalls in the world. The height is five times higher than Niagara Falls, and two times higher than the Victoria Falls. In the Amerindian language, Kaieteur means ‘parents fall’, described as an old man who pushed above the falls from a boat by his relatives.

More than 1.2 million visits recorded each year, making it one of the national parks in Croatia with the biggest travel.

The weather is warming, albeit in fits and spurts. Yesterday was warm and beautiful, today, not so much.
The many birds are still visiting. Even the little nuthatch is hanging around. The chickadees, above, are constantly at the feeders.
I'm down to one flash unit. It seems that the Metz triggers at high voltage and has fried the radio unit I was using. So, I'll work with one light!
