Take a nature shot and write a haiku to go with it.
Added a cobbled stone pathway now and also extended the front door path to the end of the plate. I think that's enough... haha... thought of adding a duck on the pond or something... but feeling lazy...
With the monochromatic Penn Central SD70ACe in the lead, the use of Western Spring's flower planters was the best option to find some color. Having grown up with Penn Central, it remains one of my favorite railroads, despite the lack of color.
Whenever the PC Heritage unit rolls through Chicagoland in the lead and in good light, chances are I will make an effort to get a shot of it.

My photographic version of the famous van Gogh painting "Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear and Pipe".

The photo is real. Nothing has been added later. The background (is handmade), smoke, bandage, hat, pipe, jacket... All there while taking the picture.
Thanks to the model and his infinite patience for getting this right in camera.

I decided to draw up a diagram of the panels I added on to the original pattern for the Babette Blanket. The original was smaller than I wanted, so here are two more panels to make it bigger. This will make it much easier for me, should I decide to make another one at this size. And for you, too, if you want to make a bigger one. You are free to use this. :)

Life-seize statue made in polished bronze of a man (the artist himself) who offers you a light for your cigarette, made by the artist Jan Fabre in 1999. His coat is offering a shield against the wind. Recently restored into its old glory, the statue actually presents a real flame (not in the picture) and smokers can really light their cigarette. The idea is broader and intends to show that art can indeed enlighten people and that the artist only transmits the light that he received from others. Both this symbolic meaning and the actual work of art are really outstanding. Seen in the garden of the Gezellehuis in Brugge; the red glow in his left arm is a reflection of another work of art, Strangler by Héctor Zamora. For me this reddish glow adds to the tension of the work, as if the heat of the world threatens to kill the flame, while the statue tries to prevent that.
