This album doesn't actually exist though I'd like it to! I run the ECM Record Cover group on Flickr. The idea of the group is to add photographs which might grace an ECM album sleeve. The group has grown nicely but we are always seeking new members and fresh input.
This imaginary album cover for saxophonist Tommaso Starace's album
is in honour of a mutual photographic 'hero' Robert Capa who covered wars from the Spanish Civil War to Vietnam where he died in 1954. I believe there's a new movie due which charts his relationship with his partner Gerda Taro (she died in the Spanish Civil War in July 1937).

Actually, it's little balls of hail. Grand Lake, CO, July 29th.
The air was cool, but not cold. In some places, the hail didn't melt for about 24 hours.
Actually, these were real pipes, bent somewhat, but not as pronounced as in this image. Also, I imagine they were steel and not lead. I did some photo program bibbity-bobbity boo, with watercolor, SNIC, dark marker, etc.

We actually stopped to see some California Condors that were flying high above the coastline, not to photograph the scenery. So, I thought I would experiment. Usually my 100-400 lens is not what I would use for landscapes so I took 5 shots here and stitched them together. The Condors were way out of range so I thought hey panorama experiment. It was a beautiful day and this was a fun experiment.
This picture would have looked so much better if the balloon on the right would not have been deflating at the time. It looks a bit sickly and people would be afraid to ride in it.
I am glad I went to the Saturday morning balloon launching (at 630am) because the Saturday and Sunday 630pm balloon launches were each canceled because of weather issues. Sunday morning was overcast and the pictures would not have been as dynamic as my balloon pictures were.
This shot is actually a dud, but it occurred to me that this crazy shot represents how backwards the overall process of maintaining my insulin pump actually is.
Don't get me wrong, I love my pump and from where I am standing I would never go back to injections, ever!
However, the process of filling up a new cartridge, changing tubing, and wasting insulin in the process, is just a little bit backwards in the year 2012. Why can't that 3ml vial slip straight into my pump?
Here's what I wish: I wish that big pharma could work faster and more efficiently with governments to ensure better and newer technologies are cleared and accessible for all Type 1 Diabetics. Period.
Actually, he was very happy to get 5th place in backstroke at the district swim meet. He moved up from his expected 6th place with a PR. Not bad for a sophomore!

Step 1: Layout Four Squares the Way You Like
We're sort of making a picture frame (as you see in the picture above) so the top two squares I will call the Framing Pair, and the middle two squares I will call the Middle Pair. The top Framing Pair is centered in the design and the bottom "middle square" is centered with it's companion to the right.
I actually decided to make the diamond design the "Middle Square" - so sorry for the confusion. I forgot to take a picture! Or I screwed up! Whichever!
Just remember - AFTER this picture, diamonds are middle square and polka dots are companion square.

This is a photograph from the annual Navan Athletic Club 6KM Road Race and Fun Run which was held at Claremont Stadium, Navan, Co. Meath, Ireland on Friday 8th May 2015 at 20:00. The race is organised as a memorial to former club members Simon Cumbers and Paddy Hyland. The weather defied its position in the calendar as a race in early May with dreary wet conditions for the race. However the conditions for running were actually reasonably good considering the weather of the previous 24 hours. The race starts about 1KM away from the Claremont Stadium with the finish on the tartan track.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. I actually made a couple of pairs of resin eyes yesterday. One was in 14mm size, and intended for this fang-y little face.
I was rather pleased to find out that the Lucywen Magnolia Fox full-package I was buying from Denver Doll Emporium actually included the Lucywen Vampire gift head! I don't believe I've ever owned an ABJD with vampire fangs, and this head is pretty cute. Though, it needs a faceup! I hope to get her over to @TJKardynal soon...
Meantime, here's a few shots of her, with some hair, the eyes I made and on a body I bought from TJ. The body is older, so the resin colour difference is quite visible. Still, fun!

I actually have one of these mechs functioning on a tandem complete with elastic stretchy gear cable and Suntour bar con. Looks great, works badly but a modern cable would no doubt remedy that.

Spitfire P7350 is the oldest airworthy Spitfire in the world and the only Spitfire still flying to have actually fought in the Battle of Britain. Believed to be the 14th of 11,989 Spitfires built at the Castle Bromwich ‘shadow’ factory in Birmingham, ‘P7’ entered service in August 1940. After serving initially with 266 Squadron at Wittering and Hornchurch at the height of the Battle of Britain, it was one of 13 Mk IIa Spitfires that were then transferred to 603 (City of Edinburgh) AuxAF Squadron at Hornchurch on 17 October 1940, to replace the Squadron’s older Mk 1s.
Polish Pilot Ludwick Martel On 25 October 1940, whilst with 603 Squadron, ‘P7’ was damaged in a combat with German ME Bf 109s and by the subsequent forced landing. The aircraft was hit by cannon fire in the left wing and the pilot, Ludwik Martel (a Pole) was wounded by shrapnel in the left side of his body and legs. He fought the aircraft back down through cloud, in pain and fighting to stay conscious, and forced landed, wheels up, in a field near Hastings. Ludwik did not fly again until 6 December 1940. It was 1941 before ‘P7’ was operational again after repair at the No1 Civilian Repair Unit at Cowley, Oxford (run by Morris Motors).
‘P7’ subsequently served operationally with 616 Squadron at Tangmere and 64 Squadron at Hornchurch, flying on fighter sweeps over occupied France as Fighter Command went on the offensive in 1941. In April 1942 ‘P7’ was withdrawn from operational flying and relegated to support duties serving with the Central Gunnery School at Sutton Bridge and 57 OTU at Eshott, Northumberland, before ending its wartime career at 19 MU. During the War, ‘P7’ is believed to have suffered damage in three ‘Cat B’ flying accidents (at Hornchurch, Sutton Bridge and Eshott), being repaired each time.
Spitfire P7350 Having survived all its wartime adventures, ‘P7’ was sold for scrap in July 1948 to Messrs. John Dale & Co Ltd for the princely sum of £25. Fortunately the historical significance of the aircraft was recognised and it was saved and generously donated to the RAF Museum at Colerne.
Restored to flying condition in 1968 for the epic film ‘Battle of Britain’, she was subsequently presented to the BBMF after filming was complete.
P7350 is currently presented as Spitfire Mk 1a N3162 of No 41 Squadron, coded ‘EB-G’, the aircraft flown by the top-scoring Battle of Britain fighter ace Eric Lock on 5 September 1940, when he destroyed 3 enemy aircraft in a single sortie.

Apparently, it was once the home of Saint Mariana de Jesus Azucena de Quito, who was a Third Order Franciscan. Upon her death, it was willed to the Carmelites.
I loved this sweet place! It was beautiful beyond words. :-)
Funny story: Some of the women were complaining about their accomodations, which surprised me. I felt so blessed to be staying in a convent! I kept chirping praise-- sharing how especially great I found the accomodations, how it was better than I had imagined, etc. The priest on the pilgrimage overheard and said pointedly, "You do not have to leave... you can stay forever, you know." I laughed and, holding up my wedding rings, replied that I was married. Father merely asked how long my husband had been married and if we had children yet. Even after my answer, Father was still trying to convince me to become a nun. It was cute, but I think I finally managed to convince him that I am a happily married woman! And, I am afraid that I would make a horrible nun. lol. :-)
Actually, it should not be here. This is the first time I see cranes on the Biebrza River in winter. I saw only one crane yesterday but I heard at least three.

There were actually 2 guys drumming (and making a great noise!) but I could only see one from where I wanted to get this shot, showing as much of the colourful Stokes Croft graffiti as possible with the busking too.. It's an amazing and 'alternative' part of Bristol and well worth time wandering around to take it all in!
