beneath the bright expanse of glass, travelers move in silence, their mirrored selves etched into the floor below like shadows of another realm. in black and white, the moment becomes timeless, a meditation on waiting and becoming.

Taken on a morning with very heavy dew, and a spotlight of sunshine coming through the trees was on this dew covered curly kale leaf. The sunshine brought out a lot of surprising colours from the kale.

This is an abstract reality image--part of one leaf of a large, fan-leaf palm tree
(I don't know its botannical name,)
We have a mild microclimate here where I live. This is in spite of being
slightly farther north than Québec City, Canada. As a result, certain palm trees
are grown successfully here in sunny locations, sheltered from north winds,

...An alternate new version of "Bridges" further expressing the mood of the weather that day.
It is interesting how this day stays with me. I return to the images I took of this tree and can still feel the rain and the wind whipping about making it almost impossible to photograph. I love having this palpable memory and to be able to revisit this day through these images.
I was drawn to this Birch tree being blown by the wind on a grey and rainy day. I find that such days present their own quality of beauty.
The meandering branches of this Birch tree are like bridges that link to different parts of the tree while the rhythm of the dancing leaves invites a closer look at the uniqueness to the colors and light.

The MM theme for 6/26 is keepsake and this takes a bit of explanation. A while ago my SIL found a glass class for us to take together and we both each made a paperweight and a slump bowl. It was a very hands-on class and she even took some video of the process.
So this week I took dozens and dozens of pictures trying to capture how cool this paperweight truly is and discovered anew that it’s not easy shooting into a glass object. In a bit I’ll add two pictures that show it a bit farther out and the size verification picture as well

Looking up at the ink bridge leading from the helipad at Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Both were designed by Pick Everard, Architects.
The aim of the project was to create 24-hour access to a primary helicopter landing site in Central Manchester, the first in the area.

Was playing/experimenting with my little iPhone to see if I could get some interesting effects. Mine is not an iphone with lots of bells and whistles.

light bends around concrete and glass as if it were memory. outside, a couple drifts past a palm tree frozen in silhouette — but here inside, everything remains still. reflections fracture the surface, and the stairs ascend into nothing. the city is both present and distant, caught between layers of light.
