The Monterey Clipper has long been considered part of the local fishing fleet to the San Francisco Bay Area, the Monterey Bay Area and east to the Sacramento delta. The original hull design was introduced into the area by Italians in the late 1860s. The design came from Genoese lateen-rigged sailboats, known as silenas, then later referred to as San Francisco feluccas.
Detail from a boardwalk in our beloved local animal park.*
I guess that the format I chose--16:9--qualifies as at least a modest panorama.
FYI: The park* is a kind of zoo, but the animal and bird spaces are large and open. Most of the denizens are or were wild species in this part of the world. Also, storks come and go from Africa.
Here is one of my favorite photos from the park: Two lynx, which are still wild in some parts of Switzerland:

Park admission is always free to everyone (since 1871). Financial support comes from small, optional annual membership fees (currently ca. 9,500 persons) plus generous donations from individuals, businesses and charitable organizations.

a hand suspended in shadow, its crimson fingertips reaching into the silence behind a pane of darkened glass. this is the theatre of the unnoticed — where gesture becomes language, and light becomes intent. the frame offers no face, no context, only a fleeting presence wrapped in elegance and mystery. an image that feels paused between meaning and movement.

This hallway window in a San Francisco apartment building attracted me for some time; finally I gave in ... the fishing floats mean we are in a good walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf.

alone in the movement. the city rushes past, and yet, for a moment, everything is still. in madrid's underground, a reflection gazes back. maybe it's her story, maybe it's ours. madrid.

Architects: Rolf Hellberg & Mark Harris. 1954.
It was built for Owen Owen Department Stores to replace the previous building, built in 1937, but bombed in the blitz in November 1940.
