Be Thou My Vision

Lyrics:

Be Thou my vision,

O Lord of my heart;

Naught be all else to me,

Save that Thou art.

Thou my best thought,

By day or by night,

Waking or sleeping,

Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my wisdom,

And Thou my true word;

I ever with Thee And Thou with me, Lord;

Thou and Thou only First in my heart,

Great God of heaven, My treasure Thou art.

Great God of heaven, My victory won,

May I reach heaven's joys,

O bright heaven's Sun!

Heart of my own heart,

Whatever befall,

Still be my vision,

O Ruler of all.

Going Abstract 2016 - Week 2

The fact of seeing something I think I can place or recognize, yet seeing it in a totally different way or context.

The colour blue feels dreamy and the shapes of the white areas definitely feel 'floaty'. The emotions I feel are: astonishment, enthusiasm and joy.. I'm in a totally different world transported by this image.

Am I moving? Is it moving? Where am I?

square abstract series

This is a close up shot of a leaf from a variegated ginger plant. When I first started working on this image I was unhappy with the original shot. The highlights (glare from the sky) were not exposed properly. As I tried to darken them a bit, the highlighted areas took on a blue color and that is when an idea formed. I began playing with some of the artistic filters in Photoshop. It was a fun experiment as I had never used any of them before. This is the end result of my fun with filters. The vein of the leaf became the perfect "road" (I gave it a little twist) in this very abstract ginger leaf "landscape"

Didn't really get a shot today apart from this air conditioning unit fan (I did need to work on it a little in PS to make something interesting). I nipped out to get a shot of some cool demolition machines but couldn't get close (with a 50mm) so this was the only fruit of my 10 minutes :-)

50/50 Project: 36 of 50

Abstract and expermental Photography from a forest in the outskirts of Larvik, Norway. The forrest is called Bøkeskogen (beechwoods) and and consists of many large and magnificent beeches. This beechwood in Larvik is the country's first public recreational area. There are two fields with smaller burial mounds from the Iron Age in the area.
