Lately I've been very interested in creating abstracts through camera movement....the editing process for me is equally as fun and enjoyable as actually taking the picture. Through the editing process you can actually begin to see what you envisioned in your mind when you took the shot. Sometimes I like to push it just a bit further than I should just to see what happens.

Abstract detail of the slip bridge over the barrage which joins Swansea marina to the SA1 development area.
I've just noticed that there is an optical illusion which makes the photo appear to be at an angle to the frame. Purely unitentional, but I think it adds a further little bit of interest :)

This is a close up shot of a leaf from a variegated ginger plant. When I first started working on this image I was unhappy with the original shot. The highlights (glare from the sky) were not exposed properly. As I tried to darken them a bit, the highlighted areas took on a blue color and that is when an idea formed. I began playing with some of the artistic filters in Photoshop. It was a fun experiment as I had never used any of them before. This is the end result of my fun with filters. The vein of the leaf became the perfect "road" (I gave it a little twist) in this very abstract ginger leaf "landscape"
