For the July 2014 ABS Challenge: The Little Mermaid by Edmund Dulac
I was delighted to see the theme for July! This gave me a perfect way to use a gorgeous connector from Pajego Art House! At first, I had intended to use a paler sea-green aqua theme. However, I was ultimately drawn to the deeper golden, cool purples and sage tones of the artwork. It turned out so great!..thanks to Kathy (Pajego) and Evan (beadsellergirl)
Here is my design list:
Pajego Art House 'urchin' connector
Vintage Lucite Topaz Shell Bead from beadsellergirl
Farfelle seed beads in metallic gold, ceylon sage, opaque purple/gold and dark purple luster
Swarovski bicone crystals in Satin Tanzanite
Antique silver shell dangle chain
Bali sterling silver clasp
Assorted silver/sterling charms - please see 'the demure maid' and 'the bone' :)
Purple luster cultured pearl
Irish waxed linen
Sterling jump rings and clam shell (no pun intended!) connetors

My entry for the February challenge.
And it proved to be quite a challenge, indeed! Blue is not an easy color for me and I struggled with it for a while, but in the end I figured out how to bring it all together and am very happy with it! I used a lovely blue wing pendant by Birgitta Lejonklou (she custom made it for me to match the blue in the painting), burned leather beads and a backing for the pendant (both made by me), blue agate rondelles, rounds, and nuggets, and smokey agate rounds and carved roses. And I linked it all together with antique bronze wire and made my own clasp. The blue agate links embellished with fancy bead caps were my sister Bethanne's idea, so you could say this necklace was a collaboration with Birgitta and Bethanne. Thank you both!!

Short and sweet :P I was nominated by A Bricker's Imagination for the ABS/ALS Challenge, and I nominate Freeling++ and Drazard . If you don't do it, I'll come to you're house and make you do it with nails :P Apparently I'm supposed to do three people, so Halhi141 , you're up as well ;)

This necklace is my February ABS entry,
I was struck by soft, yet striking colors of the painting. To me it seemed to have a dream like quality . I used some hollow glass beads and gossamer silk ribbon to try to capture that feeling. Frosted recycled glass, pearls ,smooth gemstones and a few of my own polymer clay birds completed my "dream " piece .
I blogged about here.

My first entry for an ABS challenge!
What started out as a bracelet became a long necklace... the roses are my own polymer creation, painted to match the color palette. I also used black onyx and Russian serpentine. I just love how the serpentine echos the squares of the trellis! I finished it off with suede cord tied in a knot.
