This necklace is my February ABS entry,
I was struck by soft, yet striking colors of the painting. To me it seemed to have a dream like quality . I used some hollow glass beads and gossamer silk ribbon to try to capture that feeling. Frosted recycled glass, pearls ,smooth gemstones and a few of my own polymer clay birds completed my "dream " piece .

My entry for the February challenge.
And it proved to be quite a challenge, indeed! Blue is not an easy color for me and I struggled with it for a while, but in the end I figured out how to bring it all together and am very happy with it! I used a lovely blue wing pendant by Birgitta Lejonklou (she custom made it for me to match the blue in the painting), burned leather beads and a backing for the pendant (both made by me), blue agate rondelles, rounds, and nuggets, and smokey agate rounds and carved roses. And I linked it all together with antique bronze wire and made my own clasp. The blue agate links embellished with fancy bead caps were my sister Bethanne's idea, so you could say this necklace was a collaboration with Birgitta and Bethanne. Thank you both!!

My entry for the ABS January 2014 challenge.
The first month of the new year—a perfect time to get started on the monthly challenges again! I used my own polymer clay beads—the rustic speckle beads and the yellow orange flower drops, czech glass flowers, seed beads, and a brass bird charm.

Works have been completed on 181 homes in the Caol and Lundavra areas of Fort William to install external wall insulation, making homes warmer and reducing the carbon footprint of the Highlands.

I didn't want to intrepret the caves exactly but as a amateur acheologist and student of ancient languages including petraglypes I wanted to interpret this with my favorite pictoral language, Ancient Hebrew. The first letter of the alphabet is symbolized by an ox head and the paintings of Lascaux reminded me of this. The foacl bead is made of clay and sand, hand carved and painted in a natural stone bezel. All other beads including ancient ivory beads with the pictorial letters, faux lava stone, large turquoise stones, and faux fossil beads I made to coordinate with this, the only exception is the turquoise chips in-dispersed between them.
