Sports have been a centerpiece in my life for a long time. And as my time participating in sports has been winding down over the years I've been thinking more about switching roles and maybe coaching up my own kids one day. With our oldest being the athlete she is, I figured it would happen eventually. So I wasn't all that surprised when the opportunity popped up this summer for her soccer league. I gladly took on the role. After all, how hard could it be to coach 6-8 year kids soccer? Turns out it's a lot of fun with a LOT MORE patience and understanding mixed in. LOL! I probably learned as much as I taught, which all in all is how it should be. Here's to my first of many future seasons as Coach Barnes.
I love ABS Yeah!
I love this month's challenge! And as soon as I saw it, I thought, I have the pendant for that!
I was actually making this pendant in the spirit of primitive artworks!
This necklace features 30 of my handmade clay beads plus the pendant. The Beads were fired in both reduction gas and salt kilns. I just so happens to fit me! Personality and size :-)
Me, running around without a shirt on, showing off my chiseled body.

I love the colors of the beautiful art piece chosen for this months challenge! For my challenge piece, I used a lovely bronze connector made by the talented Cindy Gimbrone.

These pics are of an ABS version of my LDD sliding door mech. Some people told me it would work in hard lego and it does. my first test that wasnt published was without doors but this is conclusive. It works comepletely. The yellow plates in that spacer do make it a bit to high and interfere with the opening a little bit. This can be corrected by moving them to the far top and bottim.
This is my interpretation of the lovely Monet painting for this month's inspiration. What a wonderful choice! So much fun!

My entry for the February challenge.
And it proved to be quite a challenge, indeed! Blue is not an easy color for me and I struggled with it for a while, but in the end I figured out how to bring it all together and am very happy with it! I used a lovely blue wing pendant by Birgitta Lejonklou (she custom made it for me to match the blue in the painting), burned leather beads and a backing for the pendant (both made by me), blue agate rondelles, rounds, and nuggets, and smokey agate rounds and carved roses. And I linked it all together with antique bronze wire and made my own clasp. The blue agate links embellished with fancy bead caps were my sister Bethanne's idea, so you could say this necklace was a collaboration with Birgitta and Bethanne. Thank you both!!
