This is my submission for the February 2011 Art Bead Scene Challenge.
My color inspiration came from the lantern by the left hand of the boy on the right side of the painting.
I was drawn to the pomegranate color.
I think this vintage inspired necklace would look apropos in the era of the painting.
The are beads are lampwork made of plotnik glass from artist Meital in Israel.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to your comments!

What, did you actually expect me to mess up my collection by doing the real thing? :P
Anyways, I really don't see much of a purpose in dumping a bunch of bricks onto a minifigure's (or person's) head, but since I like to stay on good terms with powerful barbarian generals (Asad being the one to challenge me over on MOCpages), I decided to take a few minutes to set this up (literally 3 minutes and 56 seconds in all :P). So, apologies for the poor quality and the out-of-focus character.
Oh, and I'm not going to inflict this challenge upon anyone- to be honest, I'm getting kind of tired of the whole bucket challenge thing.
Cheers!

The focal includes a polymer clay charm from Heather Powers (Humble Beads) as well as a Shabby Button made by me. There are a few other Shabby Buttons in the length of the chain.
Sports have been a centerpiece in my life for a long time. And as my time participating in sports has been winding down over the years I've been thinking more about switching roles and maybe coaching up my own kids one day. With our oldest being the athlete she is, I figured it would happen eventually. So I wasn't all that surprised when the opportunity popped up this summer for her soccer league. I gladly took on the role. After all, how hard could it be to coach 6-8 year kids soccer? Turns out it's a lot of fun with a LOT MORE patience and understanding mixed in. LOL! I probably learned as much as I taught, which all in all is how it should be. Here's to my first of many future seasons as Coach Barnes.
