The relaxing life of Lemurs.

.

I's very nice to watch the large lemur population in the park. Many lemur species are represented, including the ring-tailed lemur (Lemur catta), the red ruffed lemur (Varecia rubra), the crowned lemur (Eulemur coronatus), and the red-bellied lemur (Eulemur rubriventer). These lemurs roam freely about the park, and occasionally interact with visitors.

This includes species like cheetahs, lions, Servals, wild cats, leopards, Caracals, white lions, black panthers, a Katanga lion, jaguars, Ocelots, margays, Geoffroy's cats, Oncillas, pumas and bobcats. The jaguarundis which are very rare in European zoos. Most recent addition are black footed cats.

In addition to the felids, there is a large lemur population in the park. Fortifications - during the time of the United Provinces Hellevoetsluis was the naval port of the Admiralty of de Maze (Rotterdam) and could accommodate an entire fleet within a special land-enclosed fortress with harbour and dockyard facilities, accessible through a canal. Thanks to its strategic situation the town grew from the beginning of the 17th century to be the homeport for the Dutch war fleet. In later years the port was fortified more and more and Hellevoetsluis therefore became a unique combination of fortified town and naval port.

The Admirals Maarten Tromp, Michiel de Ruyter and Piet Heyn had their home base here and in 1688 during the Glorious Revolution William III of Orange's invasion fleet departed from the port.

Puerto Dorado village overrun by pirates in search of treasure. The first sight is the town square, where some pirates have kidnapped the mayor, Carlos, and threaten to drown him in a well if he doesn't divulge the location of the treasure. Carlos' wife tells him to be brave and not talk; she is shot at as Carlos is repeatedly dunked in the water while several other captive city officials look on. Captain Jack Sparrow is seen hiding behind some dresses. An auction scene follows, where a pirate auctions off loot from the townspeople to other pirates. A redheaded female pirate is more interested in the town's rum supply, as are the bidders, who ignore the chickens that are currently offered for bidding.

In a next scene, pirates run around chasing women holding trays of food, and two foolish buccaneers who have stolen snacks are chased by an angry woman holding a rolling pin. Just beyond is the "Pooped Pirate" drunkenly waving a map and key to a treasure vault, boasting that Captain Jack Sparrow will never see it. Jack is hiding in a barrel just behind him, popping out and getting a good look at the map over the pirate's shoulder. Off to the side, a pirate by the name of "Old Bill" wants to share rum with a group of terrified alley cats.

Carefree, tipsy pirates succeed in ravaging the town and setting it aflame, filling the night air with an orange glow.

After nearly a century of service, the Pont du Garrit was closed to traffic in 1991, with the opening of the Pont de la Vallée. Cyclists, hikers, vacationers, and fishermen have happily taken possession of the structure, demonstrating their support for heritage and ecological tourism. The "Pont du Garrit" association now promotes non-motorized tourism on this part of the Route du Pont Eiffel.

Berbiguieres: Architecture Photography

The Garrit metal bridge spans the Dordogne River between Berbiguères and Saint-Cyprien. Opened in 1894, this bridge is part of the industrial heritage of the 19th century. It replaced the ferry that had previously been used by the local population and tobacco growers in the Saint-Cyprien region.

This metal bridge spans the Dordogne River for a length of just over 176 meters. It consists of three massive metal trusses, each with a span of 67.50 meters for the central section and 54 meters for the bank sections. The main girders are large-mesh trusses, 5.83 meters high and with a 3.80-meter spacing. The 2.40-meter wide roadway was designed for one-way traffic. Traffic on the bridge was expected only on market days in Saint-Cyprien, and then only in one direction: there in the morning and back in the evening.

Dreaming of Jean de La Fontaine. Wall decoration reminiscent of the stories and drawings of the fabulist and poet Jean de La Fontaine, one of the literature and arts guests at the nearby château Vaux-le-Vicomte. From the time of the playwright Molière, they were among the artists close to Fouquet. This presentation, with the paintings on canvas in the hallway among huge artistic mirrors must have been stunning to see in brandnew state and years after, nowadays it shows signs of the passed history and maybe it should be renovated to restore it into it's full former glory just like I tried with this photographic version. Anyways, a nice thought for a good night dream.

Opening on March 18, 1967, the Disneyland version of Pirates of the Caribbean was the last attraction that Walt Disney himself participated in designing, debuting three months after his death. The ride gave rise to the song "Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)" written by George Bruns and Xavier Atencio. The song became the basis for the Pirates of the Caribbean film series, which debuted in 2003. Since 2006, Disney has incorporated characters from the film series into the various versions of the rides.

Josephine Baker is finally wearing the French colours. I made this composition by using the original theater decoration logo's found and photographed in the Music Hall at Chateau-des-Milandes. Overall a location where you can still feel her vibrant presence.

---

Pantheon Paris (mausoleum of France) - after her death she was the only American-born woman to receive full French military honours at her funeral, Baker was interred at Monaco's Cimetière de Monaco. In 2021, nearly half a century after her death, President Emmanuel Macron granted her to be honoured at the Pantheon Paris, mausoleum of France, this in recognition of the fact that Josephine Baker's "whole life was dedicated to the twin quest for liberty and justice.". She's the first black woman who received this highest honour in France, and sixth of woman, now among "Les Grands Hommes" of France. Also the first entertainer immortalized at the Pantheon alongside revered historical figures like Victor Hugo, Emile Zola and Marie Curie

At 30 november 2021 Josephine Baker merged with full honours into the colours of France for eternity. Among "Les Grands Hommes" honoured at the Pantheon Paris, mausoleum of France. Symbol of the French Resistance, symbol for so many people.

Photo July 2015, Josephine Baker (Born as Freda Josephine Baker / June 3, 1906 – April 12, 1975) after 40 years in time. In the year 2025 it's 50 years since.

---

Chateau des Milandes - Freda Josephine Baker (June 3, 1906 – April 12, 1975), naturalized as Joséphine Baker, was an American-born French dancer, singer and actress. Her career was centered primarily in Europe, mostly in her adopted France. She was the first black woman to star in a major motion picture. During her early career, Baker was among the most celebrated performers to headline the revues of the Folies Bergère in Paris with her costume, consisting of only a short skirt of artificial bananas and a beaded necklace. She became an iconic image and a symbol both of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties.

She raised her children in France at Chateau des Milandes. She aided the French Resistance during World War II and awarded the Resistance Medal by the French Committee of National Liberation, the Croix de Guerre by the French military, and Chevalier of the Légion d'honneur by General Charles de Gaulle.

On November 30, 2021, she was inducted into the Panthéon in Paris, the first black woman to receive one of the highest honors in France. As her resting place remains in Monaco Cemetery, a cenotaph was installed in vault 13 of the crypt in the Panthéon.

Notice that the first floor isn't used at all, it's empty and nobody actually lives here. That's a lot of unused space just for decoration and presentation purposes but without the extra floor the houses would loose the required high to look nice and impressive.
