You might notice the truly big swim crane in the harbour area.
They are continuously building up the harbour for new cargo.

i haven't seen one of these since i was 5 years old. it was a nice surprise to find this today.
this ties specifically to a memory of being very little, wearing sandals, hair in pigtails, and wearing a pink dress of sorts.

These noodles are a favourite of mine. Use them to make a bowl of delicious beef & green bean noodles.

1-2 TBSP sweet-hot mustard
1/4 cup tamari, dark, sweet soy sauce
1/2 cup veg or chicken stock
2 TSP toasted sesame oil
2 chicken breasts (or chicken tenders, pork loin, steak, etc. - whatever you like)
2 TBSP veg oil
1 TSP crushed red pepper flakes
Salt and black pepper
1 carrot, cut into matchsticks
1/2 box Linguini
12 to 16 shiitake mushrooms, thinly sliced
3 inches fresh ginger root, finely chopped or grated
1 red bell pepper, seeded and sliced
5 scallions, thinly sliced on an angle
2 cups fresh bean spouts, 4 handfuls
3 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds or black sesame seeds, for garnish
Put a large pot of water on to boil for pasta.
Slice the meat very thinly against the grain
Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high to high heat. Add 2 tablespoons vegetable oil and crushed pepper flakes. After a few seconds add the thinly sliced meat. Season meat with salt and pepper and cook 2 minutes to carmelize, then turn and stir-fry. Add salt to pasta water, add linguini to boiling water. To stir-fry, add mushrooms, ginger, red bell pepper, scallions and bean sprouts. Toss and stir-fry veggies with meat for several minutes. Cook pasta to al dente. Drain and add to the meat and veggies.
Sauce: Combine sweet hot mustard and tamari in a bowl. Add stock and wisk in sesame oil.
Pour sauce over the noodles and meat. Toss and allow the noodles to completely soak up the liquids, a minute or so. Remove from heat. Garnish w/ toasted sesame seeds.
(Meat variation - Season chicken tenders with salt and pepper and then coat with sesame seeds. In a separate pan, add a little oil and half way thru the cooking process, add a few tablespoons of tamari - too much longer and it might burn. Slice and serve on top of noodles).
Enjoy!
