It isn't hard to imagine San Francisco as one of the "nine homeworlds". Certainly we are blessed with heavenly and divine influences. And no doubt our own Palace of Fine Arts would be a fine realm of the gods.
San Francisco. Our beautiful kingdom. My Asgard.

I felt it in the pit of my sumach. It pulled me towards it. I felt the thunder.
“All-Father! There are missing weapons from the weapons vault!”
“Send a unit down to the vault, and another here. And bring me Gungnir!”
“Uhm, All-Father, Gungnir was one of the items stolen…”
“What?! How did they steal my spear?”
“We’re not sure, All-Father.”
“What else was stolen?”
“Other than Gungnir, the only item that was stolen was the-”
A blast of ice freezes the guards, and Odin. Loki steps into the throne room.
“And the Casket Of Ancient Winters. Hello, All-Father.”
“Loki, what brings you back back to the golden halls?”
“Play not these games with me, Odin! You know why I come here!”
“Ay, I do, but I’d wished It wasn’t true.”
“The time for wishful thought is done, now is the time for vengeance! Vengeance for the lie you forced on me! Vengeance for the shadow you put me in! Vengeance for the love you denied me!”
“I always loved you Loki. Hadn’t I loved you, you would have never been raised here. You would be yet another Jötunn, wandering the waists of Jotunheim, like your true father.”
“The father you murdered!?”
“I did not murder Laufey. His death came by someone more cruel than any I have known.”
“I cannot think of any more cruel than thee!”
It pulled towards me. As I ran the pull became more intense as I ran to the throne room. I knew that this day I must end the only man in the nine realms I could call brother. I called for the strength to do what must be done. What answered was thunder.
I burst into the throne room, with Loki, my brother, holding Odin’s own spear inches from his neck. I ran to him, and it came to me. When I reached out, I didn’t know what to expect, but when Mjölnir came into my grasp, I felt its power course through my body. I was lifted by the hammer, set to struck my brother. I had to hold back with all my might to not crack his skull. He was down. I had nearly killed my blood and my kin. Asgard was safe.

'Asgard' flight of 3 495th FS F-35As on the go around from their first approach after returning from a early Friday morning sortie in bright sunshine. Unfortunately camera power failures plagued me on this approach and I missed the rest of the first pass.
Within the branches and roots of the Norse tree, nine worlds or realms of the cosmos exist.
Midgard, or Earth, sits somewhere in the middle of the cosmos under Asgard. It is the home of humans, and is the only world that lies within the visible realm. All the other worlds are mostly invisibly, although they interact with the visible dimension occasionally. A burning rainbow bridge called Bifrost or Ásbrú (Aesir’s bridge in Old Norse), connects Midgard to Asgard.

The fine Irish Sail Training vessel ASGARD II which was unfortunately lost in 2008.
ASGARD II was the Irish national sail training vessel, until she sank in the Bay of Biscay in 2008.
A brigantine, she was commissioned on 7 March 1981 and purpose-built as a sail training vessel by Jack Tyrrell in Arklow, County Wicklow.
She was named after the Erskine Childer's yacht ASGARD, which smuggled weapons for the Irish Volunteers in 1914 these were subsequently used in the 1916 Easter Rising. The original ASGARD is preserved at Collins Barracks Military Museum, Dublin.
The vessel was owned by the Irish state and operated by Coiste an Asgard (a founding member of Sail Training International).
For a period of time in the early eighties, the vessel was commissioned by UCC for use in marine research. ASGARD II had a traditional figurehead in the form of a carving of Granuaile.

Newest Loki has arrived!
I'm pleased, for the most part, with the updated head sculpt. He doesn't look great without the helmet as it is really designed to have it on, but the same can be said about the Ragnarok version as well. The face itself looks so much better than the prototype.
Now, bring on the TV show versions! 💚
"Step to the side, Olympus and Asgard! Gamma-power is where it's at now!"
The old mythology has been crushed by the new. The romantic mysticism of Olympus and Asgard cannot prevail
against the gamma irradiated science fiction of today's heroes.

A few more shots of Loki. The sculpt is definitely Hiddleston, but without the helmet, he tends to look older. More reason to keep that beautiful half-helm on him.

Norse God of Thunder! Legendary warrior born! He is the Son of Asgard, the Mighty Thor!
Growing up, Thor was my favourite Avenger and I had a ton of old issues. I was and still am a big fan of mythologies, so Thor had the great quality of taking the old and mixing it up in that crazy comic book/soap opera sort of way. What always appealed to me about the avengers was that it was basically a big team of nerds, being mostly scientists who were dealing the best they could with their blessings or curses. Even in the Ultimate Universe Thor's character changes are the least annoying. My childhood love of those comics is the reason my son's name is Odin.
Because these will be displayed at my local comic shop for FCBD I needed an actual display, so I threw this together to store Mjolnir safely and securely. It even has room to sit the wrist gauntlet for display as well.
Thank you to my lovely Wife for taking these photos for me!

Had this in the barrel for a while, now it's here. The thing was mostly inspired by The Pontiac GTO Judge and most MOPAR cars from the 70s.
This one is heavily based from Pecovam’s insurrectionist ODST’s. I figured with all the building on Project: Requiem, it was time for another custom. A few people on flickr FM’ed me regarding customized ODSTs. This is the first one. Huge thanks to Will for the BrickArms prototypes (your too generous man). When I was working on it, the thought of a Thor/Halo figure struck me with interest. Hope you guys enjoy this one..
