This really looked like Odin & Thor would wave "Hello" every second... this was a viewpoint in the "Paul do Serra" area, where, with a bit luck and the right weather, you can catch this awesome sight of the mountain-tips breaking through the clouds.

The timing with the weather was not so good on our trip to the Grand Canyon. But it did offer some interesting views that would not be offered on most visits ...

This frame did not make me want to shoot more film. I mean, I certainly might return to shoot more film, like I did in the old days. But, this was not encouraging.

This a view of Coldingham Priory not far from the current cross roads at the heart of Coldingham Village East Lothian Scotland. Details of the Priory are linked below. It is just in land from Coldingham Sands and St Abbs.
These ruins are next to New Asgard from Marvel films including Thor enjoying a new place by the sea.

Many cultures see the rainbow as a portal to another dimension. Vikings saw it as the bridge to Asgard; the Greeks as the route between Olympus and the mortals. This one was in a remarkable sky that looked spectacular with some filtering.
My Baffin Island Photo Adventure 2016 has ended a couple of days ago. We had amazing time and good photographic conditions. For all interested in seeing wild Canadian Arctic and not afraid of 2 weeks long hike through immense valleys and highway-wide glaciers, there are already plans for Baffin Island Photo Adventure 2017. It will happen around the same time, next year. The exact trek route? Well, we will see as it changes a bit from year to year. I am notifying ahead of time because if you wish for a one in the lifetime experience…before the ice melts, it might be a good time to jump on a treadmill. What I can guarantee is no crowds of photographers and photos that very, very few have in their portfolios. In case of any questions, you know where to find me online.
"The Kingdom of Asgard"
The view on this photo is one of a few that I was looking for to capture during the 2016 expedition. Previously, when I was shooting in this location the weather didn’t cooperate and I wasn’t able to take this shot, but this time all elements were aligned. The point from which this photo was taken marks the highest camp during the whole trek. It features some of the highest mountain peaks on Baffin Island with magnificent Mount Asgard among them. The photo was taken at sunrise when the first sun rays hit the mountains. The grandeur of the mountain massive combined with this extraordinary, almost summer-like light kept us in awe long after the sunrise.
It is a single shot.
Returning to the mythological theme, here is Asgard! For the house of the Nordic Gods I took inspiration from Marvel comics and imagined it as a mega golden city with organic architecture suspended in space. I also represented in section the beginning of the Bifrost bridge.
Hiking on a glacier is like walking on a globe. You can see the horizon but it is not getting any closer. It was exactly how I felt when I was hiking across the Turner Glacier on Baffin Island. The route took me hours. It was my longest 15 kilometers ever, mainly because I was carrying 2 weeks of supplies tightly packed in my backpack and I was making my way through 30 centimeters of fresh snow.
When I reached the point suitable for my basecamp, I set up my tent in the middle of the glacier with spectacular views of surrounding peaks. The Auyuittuq National Park is a home to some of the most remarkable mountains and cliff faces on the Earth. Mt. Asgard featured on this shot is undoubtedly one of its crown jewels.
This picture was taken a few hundred meters away from my base camp. I was enjoying this view for 3 days that I stayed there. The weather changing from snowstorm to clear sky created a spectacular light show. I could sit and goggle at Mt. Asgard forever. Unfortunately the cold weather prohibited me from sitting still. I had to be on a constant move to avoid frostbites.
The photo showcases the famous north face of the double cylindrical towers of the Mount Asgard. It stands 1600 meters from the glacier and features 1200 meters of vertical wall.
Note: The foreground featured in the glacier is not a crevasse. It is one of many channels in the glacier carved by water coming from a thawed ice in the summer.
Mt. Asgard is hard to miss or forget. Its unusual cylindrical shape makes it easily distinguishable from all other mountains. Its granite column dominates over the surrounding peaks. When you hike towards Mt. Asgard, you can see it for many miles, but only when you get really close, you can really feel its overwhelming, magnetizing power. This shot was taken from the top of a moraine above our campsite when the low hanging clouds caught the last sunlight.

This one is heavily based from Pecovam’s insurrectionist ODST’s. I figured with all the building on Project: Requiem, it was time for another custom. A few people on flickr FM’ed me regarding customized ODSTs. This is the first one. Huge thanks to Will for the BrickArms prototypes (your too generous man). When I was working on it, the thought of a Thor/Halo figure struck me with interest. Hope you guys enjoy this one.

In Norse religion, Asgard is one of the Nine Worlds and home to the Æsir tribe of gods. It is surrounded by an incomplete wall attributed to a Hrimthurs riding the stallion Svaðilfari, according to Gylfaginning. Odin and his wife, Frigg, are the rulers of Asgard.
Asgard is home to many named locations; the most well known include Valhalla, where half of all those who die in battle are sent, and Fólkvangr, where the other half go.
