Staying near the Mt. Asgard on Baffin Island brings unforgettable memories. There is no doubt about it. But being there while northern lights start their dance can only be compared with some sort of nature made catharsis. When aurora borealis arrives on the sky the whole previously deeply obscure area of Turner Glacier explodes with the green glow. This hostile and frozen terrain for a moment becomes less dangerous and distant. There are not many (if any) photos of the Mt. Asgard with northern lights over it. This fact additionally intensifies the whole experience that I had over there. When one doesn’t have a point of reference it is hard to judge if this what I captured on the photo was the best aurora display in that particular place. Regardless, if it was the best northern light phenomenon over there or not, for me it was absolutely remarkable.
When I was planning my Baffin Island expedition I was aiming to be there before winter. I hoped to get some open water on the glacier to catch on my photos interesting reflections. I envisioned channels curved in the glacier with flowing water. One of these channels is visible in the foreground of this photo. But when I got to a higher elevation, I experienced full winter conditions, with glacier covered with snow instead of nice reflections in the running water. This is why I have to come back to this area later this year. This is my semi-official invitation for the Baffin Island Photo Adventure with me that will happen in August 2015.

Erm, so the interior in the St Abbs Visitor Centre. Everything is a Seagull’s cry into the abyss. I am loading this for the photographer that took these pictures and put up with my many mumbles and un-appt abbservations.
This visitor centre is on the road to Coldingham from St Abbs.

'Asgard' flight of 3 495th FS F-35As on the go around from their first approach after returning from a early Friday morning sortie in bright sunshine. Unfortunately camera power failures plagued me on this approach and I missed the rest of the first pass.

This a view of stones from around Coldingham Priory now within the bounds of the parish church of Coldingham which is part of the Church of Scotland. The stones gathered with the 2009 date stone are a marvellous collection of head scratchers and bright lighting up solved and dark dismal unsolved moments with consideration of curious potential galore. Such odd stones are quite often reused in secondary service and then further reused over and again with adjustments to fit their next desired placement. Here the stones are fantastically arranged into a fully fabulous collection. Details of the Priory are linked below. It is just in land from Coldingham Sands and St Abbs. As Above is the darkening sky and So Bellow is the shadow darkened hollow of a suitable looking sounding stone.

I took the pictures recognising instantly that Octopus es / i were at work here having proceeded from no Earthly lineage to begin their land conquest with a feisty floral front that would ensnare the hearts and minds of Gardening Human s / i such that we will tend their flowering and preserve their budding to bring their seeded offspring into our gardens, never featuring them in our farming that could bring food inspection and so their predatory detection. After thoroughly trying to identify them with the results delivered above, I knew better than to trust malleable artificial intelligence and corruptible computing devices. So on the back of a recyclable packet I noted from my slide rule and log tables that the march of The Floral Octopus es / i was only three weeks from completely controlling mankind. As an English born soul now residing in Scotland I can tell you that 3 weeks to demise at first took the fulsome taste right out of my Tea. Then in acceptance of the horror I began to taste Tea like never before to ensure that I was full of the only potential cure that I knew of. Those three weeks passed with very few seeming indications. I have checked on a new packet rear, as the original has gone to be recycled, to see what I had not factored in. If my calculations are correct we are all now seed sensitive of the Octopus es / i and most of us are fine with it. There is a distinct possibility that this plant species is nothing at all to do with the Octopus es / i
leaving their Wavy Briny Brain Wash.
Please note that my very perfunctory search of Buds that look like Octopus es / i is only partly to blame for my above ridiculous speculations. When my Wished Washed Brain Bath clears enough for me to type, it takes a while to recognise the world again. Think spinning exploding Flu symptoms to the max veering off and scarily slowly arriving back again. Betwixt the hurl and the burl I have the chance to offer you this farcical nonsense and a cup of tea, my kettle and I sing songs for any Wandering Minstrels.
These pictures were merrily taken on a warm walk towards Sunset at Coldingham from St Abbs. There is neither an imminent, nor proceeding Octopus es / i invasion. There are amazing blossoms blooming close to us all some wild and some gardened. Blooms of beauty are burgeoning now til Winter halts them all.

I recently bought the New Asgard / Bro Thor set, and turned the figure parts into Star Wars characters, for some reason.

I was going to make Kazdan with a Chima head, but the Bricklink shop I ordered from didn't actually have the correct head, and I gave up and used the new Ninjago one instead.
Hugin (thought) is one of Odin's two ravens. At day he flies over Åsgard and Midgard. At night he sits on Odin's shoulder and whispers in his ear what he has seen.
When I saw the movie Thor, I was absolutely blown away by the Asgard interpretation and I told myself: "You gotta build that in Photoshop". So I did!

Sunrise shot of Gimli Peak with Asgard to the right and Gladsheim to the left. These are the 3 tallest peaks in Valahalla Provincial Park in the West Kootenays, high above Slocan Lake. 4:40 am take off, the fastest shutter speed I could manage with the light available and a well experienced pilot for aerial photography (www.wildairphoto.com/) is what it took to get this shot.
I'll forever have a huge love and respect for mountain peaks like these and see myself living a life striven to conquer and summit many more. I think its the relationship of challenge and admiration that gives me the craving of a connection to the beauty of places like these. A symbol of power and strength resides within these cliff sides and ridge lines, and should be viewed from a distance or admired in art for the faint of heart. Those who desire more, need to train their mind body and soul not only to endure and manage their way up, but to hear the message its delivering through the energy they send out into the world. Learn to be open and receptive and prepare to be enlightened and invigorated.

As mentioned on a previous image I posted, we went to a place called St Abbs last week, which is 'New Asgard' in Avengers End Game. As we found out when we watched the sequence of the film where it is in we couldn't believe how much had been CGI'd in but it is still a beautiful village and want to go back and explore these rock formations some more. This is a blended image as the sky was too nice to smooth out but wanted a flat water.
