Às vezes ouço passar o vento; e só de ouvir o vento passar, vale a pena ter nascido.

Hi !
Here is "CarmaHi", a Carmalyne version of Hiei (Yu Yu Hakusho) !
I really enjoied making her ! ^o^
The central relief shows Venice as Justice with the sword and scales. She sits upon a throne supported by lions in allusion to her Solomonic wisdom. On either side the figure is flanked by river gods with water flowing from urns in reference to the subject territories on the Italian mainland.
Probably as close as I’m going to get to an actual river cruise, we'll have to do our best to simulate it with what I can manage to shoot on my kitchen table. Rigging up a 'port hole' is an interesting challenge without actually sawing a hole in one of my background boards!
As you can see, yesterday we were almost snowed in! This is a view taken during our walk to check up on my Mum's house, through the less glamorous part of the city! Keep your wits about you here!! A postman was walking towards us and had to chase some of his letters, as they blew out of his hands as he walked!!
As we continue east our way forward is blocked by a westbound BNSF coal train sitting in the siding at West End waiting for the ML to pass on the main.
As you can see, I've missed part of her wing, and tail, but I hope you agree, that the head focus was spot on.

Cream City originally opened in the late 1890s as Consumer City in the same proximity as it is now. Consumer City made milk and other dairy products which were shipped to the north by covered wagon. The Whitaker family owned the dairy manufacturing business, and through its evolution the name changed to Cream City. In 1948, the building that housed Cream City at that time burned down. A new building was constructed and completed in 1950 and is the same building which stands today. At the time of the new construction, a 3-ton neon sign was erected on top of the building proving to be a tourist attraction along Highway 70. The neon sign has been featured in several magazines and was named one of the top 100 neon signs in the country by American Road Magazine. However, in 1986, a prominent ice cream company purchased Cream City Ice Cream to shut it down as its production became a major competitor. After this, the existing building housed many other businesses including a café, an accounting office, a T-shirt shop, and even living quarters. However, the 3-ton sign and its neon magnetism attracted passer-bys to mainly ice cream. The structure became what it was meant to be again in 2011 when Cream City Ice Cream and Coffee House opened the doors to the public once again as an ice cream shop. The downtown area has officially been titled the "Cream City Historic District" as displayed by the city of Cookeville on designated signage. And, the old 1930s Cream City Ice Cream "Take some home today" sign that was originally displayed on the outside of the building still proudly hangs inside the store today.

As a week well spent in the greater Twin Cities area drew to a close, I got a text that my flight home was being delayed by 5 or so hours. So after gathering ourselves and extending the rental by a couple hours, we were just getting our bearings back when this guy lit up the radio..."KCS 3903 East" with 63 Herzog empties out of CP's Humboldt Yard for loading at Ortonville on the TC&W. We made a beeline for Hopkins with time to spare and anxiously awaited one of my trademarked cloudf**ks, but as luck would have it a big hole broke open in the clouds as they rounded the corner. Here's the pair of endangered Southern Belle SD70MACs bringing 63 Herzog empties west down the TC&W in some sweet evening light. Sure it may suck typing this out in the airport as I wait on my flight, but this was a nice little consolation prize that we wouldn't have seen otherwise.

As mentioned in a previous posting, since the 1970s, wild Ring necked Parakeets thought to have either escaped captivity or freed, have spread across S.E. England & into London. Not a native bird, originally from tropical countries such as Africa and India, they have adapted to our colder weather in suburban areas, where there is plenty of food and shelter. I spotted this fellow & his partner in our local park. They have now arrived in our part of N.W. London. He turned around to glare at me as I took a photo :) There is concern about their impact on native British birds, which is being monitored.
As a few sun rays make it through the clouds, a male Anna Hummingbird takes a little time to do some stretching while keeping forever alert to any invaders of his claimed territory.
It was damp dreary winter day with an over all grey sky, but once in while the sun rays would partially break through. I longed to capture this little guy stretching or preening and with patience he stretched and preened for me!

How cool would it be if Integrity Toys did a line of Clueless dolls?? Ugh i would snap them up in a heartbeat!!
As vacation week comes to a close, it was nothing short of interesting. I started taking pictures when I was about 7, finally graduating to slide film with an old Yashica in 1983. I can remember going to Mechanicville with my father and grandfather in 1978. After a about an hour long cab ride in a D&H C-628, I'll never forget being at Coons crossing, just west of the yard, hearing that M-3 sound off and catching the train orders wrapped in a snickers bar thrown by the engineer as the train was headed to Binghamton. It has been 42 years since then and little did I think I'd ever see something as pristine this "Lightening Stripe" ALCO RS-36 ply the rails of the former D&H Washington Branch under the flag of the Battenkill Railroad. The "new" 5012 has attracted many in the past month, giving us a glimpse of what we remember as kids. This chase was lots of fun and spent with a few close friends including my son Zachary. He has heard many silly stories of my early days trackside with "Pa" and "Umpa". Hopefully he'll remember this for years to come...and nothing else from this day. Natal em Cunha, todo mundo dormindo e lá vai o Jean às 4:30 fazer foto. Uma pena que era Lua Cheia, não deu para fazer o que queria, mas valeu a pena o passeio e a foto.
As the sun dipped towards London's horizon we were treated to this wonderful warm light. The building in More London and on the southbank around London Bridge are already blocking the sunlight as can be seen on the furthest towers. The arrival of the red London double decker bus onto the bridge just adds to the scene.
As we watch this Lewis Woodpecker repeatedly return to this Oak tree, I realized he was 'defending his territory'
As i posted on my Insta, just for fun, i decided to create a miniature version of my Cinderella design that i created for Disney and Tumblr.
As you guys know, i definitely want to design some dolls in the future, whether it be collaborating with a brand or my own line.
As at the end of last year, I am showing a few digitized slides again:

Digitized slide from 1992, the EXIF data refer to the camera used for digitizing, not to the original slide.

As temperatures drop in late autumn and winter, small mammals become less active. Less active prey make a lot less noise and are therefore much harder for Barn Owls to find and catch. Barn Owls are poorly insulated and need extra energy (food) during cold weather to make up for an increased loss of body heat. In winter then, food is generally harder to find at a time when Barn Owls need it most.
...... and with its whorls and arches, as unique as any fingerprint. My natural stone paperweight was found by my father beside a creek, kept on his desk and now sits on mine. Such a perfect fit in my palm, this wonderful old tactile stone gives me pleasure and a reminder of my brief existence.
