This picture was taken in Mount Usher Gardens in Wicklow on a summery Sunday morning. Unknown to me, many artists set up there each week to capture the surrounds. So while they painted, I used to them to enhance my scene!
I'd be interested in any comments you have.
The windy drive up to and through Artists Palette is one that everyone should make (unless you are in an RV). A stop about half way through allows for a bit of exploring the colorful hills, which are volcanic deposits rich in compounds such as iron oxides and chlorite (green color).
If you've seen shots of Artists Palette on the internet that are much more vibrant and colorful, don't believe it. This is what the hills actually look like.
On a side note, a scene from the original Star Wars was filled here (out of frame to the left).

Corrugations: The Art of Jeff Thomson, is a significant retrospective exhibition, celebrating three decades of work by the Kiwi sculptor. A corrugated iron-clad Morris Minor, a giraffe, ‘chooks’, French knitting, kete and bouquets of flowers – all crafted out of iron - are featured in the exhibition. The works are drawn from the artist’s own collection and from private and institutional collections. For More Info: www.canterburymuseum.com/about-us/media-releases/iron-man...
I had to take my car in for a WOF and service so instead of going home I took a walk around the city. March 2, 2016 Christchurch New Zealand.
The artist was sitting in the shades of the trees in a valley which is ending to three waterfalls .
The marvelous Potami waterfalls in Samos.
To find the waterfalls one has to climb over small bridges or pieces of wood along the stream.
It takes a lot of courage to follow upstream or downstream and climb
up or down the three waterfalls.
After the second waterfall it takes time to walk in the bed of the Potami brook
And cross quite a few cascades until arriving at the third waterfall!
PS. I had to give up!!!
Somewhereville's famous selfie painter, Eliot Quinn is the master of self expression. He says "The cool thing about being a selfie painter is you can represent yourself as anything you want from doctor, to super hero, to clown." Wish I could paint a lick. Meanwhile I'll just use my phone.
Image imagined in MidJourney AI and finished with Topaz Studio and Lightroom Classic.

Teaching Art classes allows for all sorts of discussion about various artists, media and styles.
Today's subject was someone very familiar. The class was impressed with the emotion evoked through a few plastic bricks. Most agreed that it looked like a pretty sad robot.
I have been blaming raccoons for rearranging the rocks and moss around the water feature.
They may be doing some of the work but this eastern grey squirrel was trying his hand earlier today.
Yes I know it is black, they commonly occur in two colour phases, grey and black, which leads people to think—mistakenly—that there are two different species.

Sciurus carolinensis
They can reach speeds of up to 25 km per hour on the ground and leave tracks in the snow that often look like two exclamation marks (!!)
