I enjoy finding any sign related to art. I don't know what store/business this sign in downtown Kissimmee originally represented -- maybe a gallery or an art supply store -- and I think there used to be neon. I'm unsure. I do know that sadly, the last time I checked on this sign, it had been completely repainted and while the shape remained, that's it -- it was hard to tell it used to be a palette.
This old woman is a painting artist, she has been painting umbrella since she was young.
I set this scene and frame her with the umbrella she paint. A very talented and humble woman.
Myamoto the Artist
Created with Midjourney Video option.
Miyamoto Musashi was a renowned Japanese samurai, strategist, artist, and writer from the early 17th century, celebrated for his undefeated record in 62 duels and the founding of the Niten Ichi-ryū sword style. He is considered a "sword saint" (\(kensei\)) and authored influential works like The Book of Five Rings and Dokkōdō. Beyond his martial prowess, Musashi was also a skilled painter who worked in the minimalist sumi-e style and a calligraphi.
Close-up view of Miyamoto Musashi a Japanese artist, gently moving the brush over the wooden tablet, he sits cross-legged on a tatami mat, intently focused on writing Japanese calligraphy with a brush amidst a beautiful serene garden. A little shrike solemnly perched on a barren branch and bamboo plants with thoughtfully placed lighting seen in the background. The ethereal, imaginative, and deeply detailed style reminiscent of late 19th-century surrealism, primary medium, alcohol inks.; Digital art,

To exceed the ordinary, the artist knows, is both a blessing and a curse. Each touch, each word, each act of creation becomes a paradox: an offering to eternity but rooted in the fleeting frailty of the present. What if they fail? What if the light within, so achingly bright, burns them to ash rather than illuminating their path?
As part of my Artisans at Work series, I had the pleasure of shooting a portrait session of artist John Luchak at his studio in Langley British Columbia Canada. John is an amazing, multitalented artist who does sketches, painting, sculpture and even theatrical work such as this amazing Sasquatch mask. For the shoot I was using my Mamiya RB67 medium format camera with Fujifilm’s new Acros2 film, which was pushed to 400iso for the shoot.

This is Tenzile Özgün, a tile artist in Sultanahmed. I spotted her through the window of her atelier/shop during my first evening in Istanbul, when she invited me to come in and see her work and her 9 cats running around (5 kittens). It was the nicest entree to this city I could imagine! The light was not good for photos, but my little camera made it!
