Today a beautiful time with a textile artist Marta Cucchia in Perugia

An artist at the weekly market in downtown Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, making his colourful painting, is clearly happy in his chosen profession.

Artists enjoying the scene at Aldeburgh. I loved the valerian and mallow in the foreground with the boat on the horizon.

This spot is in Death Valley CA, called the Artist's Palette. I would have called it Neapolitan Sundae. Best viewed on a computer to see the color contrasts

Taken in late afternoon with iPhone 16

This old woman is a painting artist, she has been painting umbrella since she was young.

I set this scene and frame her with the umbrella she paint. A very talented and humble woman.

Folk Artists performing at Krishimela in GKVK, Bengaluru.

A pano I shot in Death Valley, I think maybe 4 frames but I have forotten the details of the shot..

Performing onstage with a band at the Urbana Sweetcorn Festival in Urbana, Illiniois.

The Artist's Drive in Death Valley National Park takes you out of the valley and up into the (not so accurately named) Black Mountains.

The main attraction is the Artist's Palette area, seen in the centre of the image.

The colours are a result of oxidation of various different types of metals, producing an amazing mix of colours and beauty to what is a relatively lifeless area.

Beautiful Venice

Stormy weather provided the perfect backdrop for the always stunning view from Artist's Bluff in Franconia Notch.

Willem Vermandere, sculptor, musician, painter, poet, friend and Flemish cultural icon.

He'd groan at being called an icon. This humble, wise man touches the lives of everyone who comes into contact with his work. At the moment he is performing in South Africa.

I took this in France after a wonderful lunch together with Magda and his wife.

I really like minimalist and abstract landscapes, and so we decided to spend the day hiking up a massive cinder cone volcano to get a viewpoint of these amazing hills with trees dotted throughout the landscape. It was quite elevated here and i think given that we had lived around sea level our entire lives we were suffering a bit from altitude sickness, feeling headache and so out of breath.

Now that i sit comfortably in my office i say it was worth it :p

i wonder if i should have made this a bit more of a square format rather than the rectangle here - it feels like the left of the frame has nothing particularly interesting to look at

pas étonnant que beaucoup d'artistes s'installent ici pour peindre... Moi je m'y suis installée pour méditer et me remplir les yeux de beauté...

The name of this spot pretty much says it all...easy to see how Yellowstone got its name when you're standing here looking at this canyon. I'm always amazed at how different it looks each time we visit, depending on the time of day, the season, the lighting, etc. One thing's for sure though, it's always awe inspiring to stand at this point and marvel at Mother Nature's artistic ability.

Have a great Wednesday....looks like it's going to be a hot one here today with temps nearing triple digits...yikes!!!! Appreciate all your visits and comments :-)

.... or why the windows look the way they do.

The grey Autumn weather continues. Linus went out in the morning and found a rain puddle in the garden. He loves to play with water and was in heaven. After a while, when the puddle started to bore him, he decided to return home and "decorate" the living room window. I had to take a photo to show it to my mother when she tells me again that I should really clean my windows from time to time !

American artist William J. McCloskey (1859-1941) was born in Philadelphia. He was the third of eight children, as well as the third generation of Irish immigrants. The subject for which William is most readily known is this tissue paper-wrapped citrus. The oil painting portrays well-lit fruit in a triangular arrangement, resting on a highly-reflective mahogany table top. This theme was marketable and in demand for the time period, which is why there are so many paintings of the same subject matter for both William and his artist-wife, Alberta Binford McCloskey (1863-1911).

Seen and photographed on display at San Francisco's M.H. de Young Memorial Museum in Golden Gate Park.
