I create pieces that acknowledge and respond to the physical presence of the person viewing them. This comes from an uncertainty about my own place in the world; the urge to have a unique identity with clearly marked personal space conflicts with a longing for real intimacy and a feeling of being part of a community.
In some pieces, there are details that will not read from across the room: you must get close to see them, much closer than you would to the face of a stranger.
Colors may cozy up together or push violently. Spaces between shapes create varying degrees of tension.
I take inspiration from everyday objects, anthropological images, microscopic life, and the surface of our planet, utilizing patterning and repetition that makes creation a meditative and obsessive act.

I am available for indoor & outdoor shooting, workshops and any related modelling activities. I am also very fond of sports which I practice in my spare time, such as snowboarding, trekking, horse riding and motorbike.

Tribute to my dear artist friend
BARBARA COOPER
My favorite artist, and dearest friend, BARBARA COOPER, ended her suffering back in 2007.
BC was a wonderful artist. I collected many of her works and have quite a few of her paintings in my apartments. It always seems that she is right there with me for I see her in her paintings.
BC is the person who gave me the cool FRENCH-ENGLISH dictionary with the hidden story inside. Somehow her guides, knew that of all her friends, it would be ADDA who would find that incredible story. I will always be grateful for that tremendously generous gift.
Adda was one of the first collectors of her incredible paintings, as well, as an advisor to her first venture into selling her paintings. (Ask more MONEY, was my advice! hahaha)
I was able to connect her with the folks at VISUAL AID who welcomed her in their arms. They provided her with vouchers for art supplies and wonderful heartfelt support.
BC was collected by many people in the BAY AREA. She won several awards and was featured in several art shows in Marin.
Every year BC contributed some of her art works to benefit VISUAL AID and other organizations.
She was deeply loved and appreciated by her friends and her art loving admirers.
my friend STEVIE passed away last week, (MAY 2013) and his sister has distributed some of his items. STEVIE also loved BC a lot and he had a huge collection of BC (Barbara Cooper) paintings. Most of the BC paintings went to me, which opened a flood of tears...remembrance of two friends who are no doubt parting and painting on another level....
Miss you my dear artist pal BC and I miss my cherished friend STEVIE...

Artist in Residence Leon Adriaans
Leons partner Monique Willems, heeft in samenwerking met Stichting het Noordbrabants Landschap een Artist in Residence gerealiseerd.
Voor kunstenaars die zich laten inspireren door het leven en werk van Leon Adriaans is er een mogelijkheid om in het Sterrebos te werken.
Le livre d’artiste occupe une place prépondérante au sein de la collection de la médiathèque des Abattoirs, qui compte un corpus d’ouvrages historiques éclairants au regard de l’histoire de ce genre artistique à part entière. Cette collection rend compte de son développement et de sa genèse au cours des années soixante dans la mouvance des avant-gardes, jusqu’à nos jours.
La Médiathèque des Abattoirs en lien avec l’École des beaux-arts de Toulouse propose BRACONNAGES, forme de laboratoire autour du livre d’artiste.
L’enjeu particulier de "Braconnages" aura été de mener une réflexion et une expérience sur le livre d’artiste conçu comme lieu à part entière, à savoir une œuvre en soi dont la fonction simple du support passe à la forme signifiante du livre d’artiste (forme et usage).
L’intention s’est articulée sur l’idée de mettre en place aussi bien un espace de travail (un bureau pris en compte comme laboratoire) qu’un espace de monstration (une vitrine : visibilité des recherches et aperçu des réalisations des étudiants) au sein de la Médiathèque des Abattoirs et en lien avec l’Ecole des beaux-arts.
Du 10 juin et jusqu’au 28 août 2010, l’ensemble des formes très diverses de leurs livres sont à explorer dans l’exposition qui clôture le projet de cette année.

The San Francisco Hunters Point Shipyard Artists are holding Spring Open Studios on April 30 and May 1, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
The 20th annual Spring Open Studio, organized by Hunters Point Shipyard Artists, offers a rare opportunity to deal directly with the artists. Nearly 150 participating artists will open workspace doors to the public.
With thousands of works of art for sale, including painting, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, the studios are sure to have something for everyone’s taste. The Bay Area’s premier Spring Open Studio event invites you to Explore, Experience & Collect.
Studios will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission and parking are free.
