Artist Manifesto that I created for a swap on Swap-Bot. I made my Manifesto into a mini journal to keep ideas in too...I hope the people I send it to like them!
In the group at the right Ghirlandaio depicts famous contemporary artists (including himself) who can be identified from the description of Vasari as Alesso Baldovinetti, Bastiano Mainardi, Davide and Domenico Ghirlandaio.
Vasari wrote that "one of these, the old, clean-shaven man in a red cap, is Alesso Baldovinetti, Domenico's master in painting and mosaic.", who was probably portrayed from life since he died later, in 1499. "Another, standing bareheaded, his hand at his side, in a red mantle, with a blue vest beneath, is Domenico himself, drawn with the help of a mirror.

a creative breath carries away from Place du Tertre in Montmartre, land of contrast between the straight lines of onlookers and the imagination that fuse the fingers of the artist
Place de Tertre in the morning.
The Place du Tertre is a square in Paris' XVIIIe arrondissement. Only a few streets away from Montmartre's Basilica of the Sacré Cœur and the Lapin Agile, it is the heart of the city's elevated Montmartre quarter.
With its many artists setting up their easels each day for the tourists, the Place du Tertre is a reminder of the time when Montmartre was the mecca of modern art. At the beginning of the 20th century, many penniless painters including Picasso and Utrillo were living there.
L'Espace Salvador Dalí, a museum principally dedicated to the sculpture and drawings of Salvador Dalí, can be found a few steps from Place du Tertre.

DeGrazia once said, “I do a lot of brooding before I begin work. You have to know what you’re going to do when you walk up to the canvas, because once it’s done, you can’t go back and touch it up again.”

I create pieces that acknowledge and respond to the physical presence of the person viewing them. This comes from an uncertainty about my own place in the world; the urge to have a unique identity with clearly marked personal space conflicts with a longing for real intimacy and a feeling of being part of a community.
In some pieces, there are details that will not read from across the room: you must get close to see them, much closer than you would to the face of a stranger.
Colors may cozy up together or push violently. Spaces between shapes create varying degrees of tension.
I take inspiration from everyday objects, anthropological images, microscopic life, and the surface of our planet, utilizing patterning and repetition that makes creation a meditative and obsessive act.
So with my brother stroling around looking at the stuff I spot this woman with all her paint's out and get a photo just as she's folding it up. I finall get the attentiion of my brother so he can get a photo but I've seen another photo I can get with the two of them.
This artist was painting the skyline of NYC from the High Line Park. The setting sun was shining on his paint and brushes, and I couldn't resist taking a few shots of him!
