"The best artist has that thought alone Which is contained within the marble shell; The sculptor's hand can only break the spell To free the figures slumbering in the stone"

So a lot of people in the NW will time and again talk about how "everything is great," or "I love it all," or "I do not have a favorite."
Well..
I do love it all, but I also do have a favorite place. And this is it. It is the Artist Point/ Heather Meadows area. It is home to great views of Mount Baker, Mount Shuksan, and my personal favorite, Table Mountain. This place is beautiful, and reachable any time of the year as long as you are at least a little determined.
It changes with the seasons, from seas of white in the winter, to fields of copper, red, and orange in the fall. Summer brings out a collection of lakes and tarns on which the mountains can be seen reflecting.
I have spent days, and nights up here, and have never once left disappointed.
This is my favorite plasce in the world.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

A watercolor effect seemed appropriate for this view from Artists Point along Rim Rock Drive at Colorado National Monument. Below is Monument Canyon and once again, the Grand Mesa is on the right in the far distance. I love this place and can't wait to get back here again.
Located high on the Colorado Plateau near Grand Junction, the Colorado National Monument was established in 1911 and is managed by the National Park Service.
This is a special exhibition that is at the NGV at Federation Square in Melbourne and running until January 27, 2025. We get into a lift with this reminder on its door. "I was always here."
The exhibition is for Kamilaroi artist, Reko Rennie. It encompasses the intersection between culture, politics and identity from a First Nations perspective. Two of the main themes in Rennie's exhibition is the historic present tense, "I was always here," which ties him to his ancestors, and "Remember me," of which I will say something in the art work of that title.
Fanconia Ridge back left, Echo Lake, and Canon Mountain on the right. Most of a week in New Hampshire but could do much hiking due to a foot injury so I did some trail magic instead. This was the best view I could get. It's only a half mile trail but it's pretty steep.
