I've reworked an older photo with a bit of help from Affinity Photo and the vision I thought I had 18 months ago...
Freddie & Gus (7)
Summer mornings don't get much better than this. That's assuming Gus remembers to swerve round me (which on past experience isn't a given). Meanwhile Freddie puts the lad through his paces. I've said it before but never underestimate a Border Terrier.

There are a lot of allotments in Macclesfield, and from what I can tell they are well-looked-after, busy places. There seemed to be some kind of garden party happening in one of them as I walked past. You wouldn't have known it was October!
Fantastic concert on Sarasota Bay and bonus light show from the back side of the sunset on storm clouds.
A gritstone outcrop known as Edale Rocks on the south-western corner of Kinder Scout. Just visible to its left is the hill called South Head.
Just one more to show the size of the beech trees in Epping Forest and the colours their leaves produce in autumn
Autumnal colours around the gardens of Inveraray castle
The dark moody sky made the colours of the leaves stand out

The locals know it. The Gypsy Bridge, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex. Designed to get pedestrians and small-wheeled transport over the railway line and with the beach right next to it there was only a small footprint to build on. Here we are looking up enjoying, the abstract view.

December, 2010.
I’ve kicked an ageing Windows laptop into life and found this on the hard drive. Taken on a little Kodak P&S digital camera. Here’s the 4th (and probably last) Flickr-worthy find from some shots I had taken that winter. This is a rural village close to Colchester in Essex. Of the resurrected photos I think this is my favourite. It was the light. All natural.
Oh, check out the EXIF data, that was a cheap but nifty little camera with a whopping 4MP sensor!!

For the Compositionally Challenged Group Week 20 - Capturing Time. And for anybody else of course!

5 separate exposures merged in camera. Just a little tweak to contrast in Affinity Photo and a 10x8 crop.

Final edit was on my phone as an experiment. This is a composite. I took both the dog and the beachscape. I have only tried this a few times years ago but not very successfully. I thought I would try it again just to see if I could do it. It isn't something that particularly interests me; but it taught me some things. Because of a computer calamity it is difficult for me to edit and post images at the moment. Final edit of this was achieved on my phone including converting it to black and white.
The dog image was taken at f5.6 85mm 1/1000.
It's ok Freddie. Daddy knows the back routes. He's got a treat for you in his bag...

Mostly SooC here, per EXIF. There was mist, drizzle and poor long distance visibility which I'm sure was laid on just to confound me. But for a first attempt I got a "wow" from Mrs. Harvey!

Thanks are due to Victoria Carmichael womboyne7 for directing me to Daniel Garrido dgarridosan who knows a thing or two about this type of picture. I know this can be improved upon. And I will do more. Maybe not in the rain though...☺️
A beautiful tribute to a local lady who passed in 1930.

Further along this road is an old house, long abandoned and now beyond repair. But what memories remain in those bricks and timber?

And for once they're 6 feet up so balancing the camera becomes a lot easier! EXIF as shown with flash on 1/4 power and some positive flash EV. Raw file lightly processed in Affinity Photo for clarity.
Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta e San Pantaleone - a modest cathedral (by Italian standards) built in the 11th century, located in the City Square of Ravello Italy
The last colourful leaves clinging on during a beautiful foggy and frosty morning. The sun was just peering through so used the soft backlight.
If you should happen to be heading through South Essex along the A13 London road to the coast, as you pass Corringham take a look towards the hills to the North. Here stands the Northlands Wood, ancient and full of wonders.
Here I spend many happy hours watching the seasons unfold. And following a lunatic dog…

Apologies for the lack of recent posts and comments, a combination of being busy and not really taking many images. I collected a few close-up nature images from some summer outings but I've really enjoyed some open spaces over the last couple of weeks with the New Forest heather blooming brilliantly. Last year in the heat wave the heaths were terribly scorched but they've really put on a show this year. Not many misty mornings at this site so was pleased to catch up with one.

The Ouse dyke is part of the Netherfield Lagoons nature reserve which is managed by the Gedling Conservation Trust. These images were all taken whilst out on my daily exercise walk and demonstrates how the reserve is rich in wildlife.

The Dark Hedges is an avenue of beech trees along Bregagh Road between Armoy and Stranocum in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The trees form an atmospheric tunnel that has been used as a location in HBO's popular television series Game of Thrones, which has resulted in the avenue becoming a popular tourist attraction.
The Dark Hedges was used as a filming location for the "King's Road" in the television series Game of Thrones. The trees were also used in the 2017 Transformers film The Last Knight.
