"Huntly Castle sits on the edge of the small market town of Huntly, beside the River Deveron in Aberdeenshire.
The magnificent ruin of this motte and bailey style castle dates from the 12th century. With its splendid architecture, Huntly Castle served as a baronial residence for five centuries. The earliest stronghold on the site sheltered Robert the Bruce in the 14th century.
The palace block, erected in between the 16th and 17th centuries, has an impressive L-plan tower house and defensive earthworks from the civil war. The property is famed for the fine heraldic sculpture and inscribed stone friezes and includes two impressive heraldic fireplaces in the Marchioness’s lodging". [Source Visit Scotland.com]

As we bid adieu to the warmth of summer's embrace, we find ourselves on the precipice of autumn's arrival. The world transforms into a canvas of vivid hues, a tapestry of crimson and gold, where every leaf tells a story of change. It's a season that invites introspection, a time when nature itself seems to pause and take a deep breath. As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, we're reminded of the beauty that resides in letting go, in the graceful dance of transition. So, as autumn approaches, let us embrace this chapter of transformation with open hearts, for it's a reminder that change can be as beautiful as the falling leaves.

The last two weeks passed quickly since the release of MMV's TransMontana ( flic.kr/p/2oShMTV ). The weather was so stormy in those days when I visited the lake Balaton. This one hit with a heavy downpourshortly after its arrival, but before that it provided an amazing sight.

This storm took a long time approaching with overcast clouds, alternating with sun. Changeable weather makes for interesting skies. The day was quite windy from the west leaving Georgian Bay smooth and still. We finally got our thunderstorm in the evening hours.... summer weather in March!!
