IN EXPLORE - January 10, 2025

This last part of the ascent is a real pleasure. The W ridge is very panoramic, not just trivial, but easy to overcome and you're all the time able to check how you are nearing the summit.

Our boat approaches Talisay Beach on Tapiutan Island. This is our stopover for lunch on Tour C of our island-hopping in the Bacuit archipelago in El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. Like practically all islands in Bacuit Bay it is uninhabited. Lunch is cooked aboard the tour boats and served on the island.

The harbinger of approaching thunderstorms in rural Augusta County, Virginia

Having passed Tunstead works 66783 is about to plunge through the short tunnel just before coming out on the old triangle at Blackwell Mill / Torpey Pike. The train will curve right down to Buxton where it will run around before heading up to Hindlow / Dowlow, whereas the old Midland Mainline from Derby / Maltlock to Manchester would come in from the right through the gate.

During our trip to the UK we stayed with our friends, Judy and Mervyn for a couple of days. They took us for a drive around the local area and we stopped at Huttoft Beach where we took photos and had an icecream. While we were there a storm was approaching and we decided to make our way home.

I am again converting archive film camera images to digital....I will be posting these images for awhile. This image is from the Indian Beach area on the North Oregon coast.

Manor zoo park in Pembrokeshire has two red Pandas - Betty and Barney. They have been brought together in the hope they may mate - they certainly like each other!

I had been warned not to get too close to the Pandas so I didn't freak them out.

However, they were both so very interested in what I was doing, I have many blurry images of Red Panda noses as they approached too close for my camera to cope!

Barney (in this image) seemed to be a particular Pentax fan...!!
