Absolute World Towers #4 & #5, Mississauga, Ontario (colloquially known as Marilyn Monroe). Looks really nice on Black.
My musical suggestion is: 'Don't Explain' - Beth Hart & Joe Bonamassa .
I absolutely love this photo. Why? Well, it's a complex answer...
After a very important and informative appointment with medical staff at the Kingston hospital, I stumbled upon this stunning flower on my way to the second meeting, at a different building, for an even more informative appointment.
The news I got at both appointments was not good - namely that my brain cancer was winning the battle against the medication I was taking - but this photo was and is important to me. It helps me remember that my fight for survival is against brain cancer but there are still other wonderful and beautiful things in the world and, for me, those things matter a great deal.
Why?
Well, in my honest opinion, it doesn't matter - what matters is that I still think that. I have glioblastoma multiforme, a brain cancer for which they do not (yet) have a cure. I might be losing the battle but I haven't yet lost - I'm still alive. Until that changes, I'm going to enjoy my life and, oddly, taking photos of flowers is something I deeply enjoy. I'm trying to get better at taking other photos of late but, at the end of the day, I love taking photos of flowers.
And this one, between two very important meetings with awesome medical staff who are helping me fight my battle against glioblastoma, personifies that. Specifically, I love good things more than fixating on bad.
Thus, for me, the most memorable thing about that day is this picture. I absolutely love this photo.

I'm losing my fight against glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer. Please, if you are willing, make a donation to any fight against cancer in your area.
(To be clear, I am not asking you for money - I'm asking you to donate money to a fight against cancer.)
365 days of mommying and just one day to celebrate, not at all fair!
She loves us round the clock and believes in us when we stop believing. We don't need second sunday of may to tell her how much we love her.
We need her every single day to tell her how our lives are so lifeless without her.
Love You MOM....
Hiking on Bronson Hill, emerging from the woods at the big field, looking south towards the White Mountains, the summits of Cannon Mountain and Mt. Kinsman hidden in the clouds.
this was from a song that was written in Mandarin.

A fresh bunch of custom anime characters!
Here's a link to the first season. L to R:
1. Astolfe Cleric hails from a family of clerics that has long fallen into disrepute. On one dark and lonely night he and his bastard brother Eddie were dabbling in alchemy trying to summon a hot djinn, but something went horribly wrong (not at all surprising in hindsight) and Astolfe's body ended up being taken by the spell. Eddie's alchemy skills being what they are, he only managed to salvage his brother's soul and weld it onto pieces of armour lying around the room. The bastard himself got off unscathed and has been at large ever since, and Astolfe has sworn revenge.
2. Faceless ninja. While some found her lack of face rather disturbing, others turned it into a commercial opportunity. Armour shops around the region were quick to realise that it would be good publicity to have their trademark designs carry out assassination work - seemingly on their own. She is now even beginning to receive contracts from the fashion industry.
3-4. Oruchi and Madon. A pair of fearsome outlaws, they have a long record of small robberies and assaults. Some may think of them as small-timers, but those same people fail to realise that consistency adds up to a substantial claim over time, and while the big-hitters are long dead or behind bars, these two are still doing their thing.
5-6. Archer cousins. They look nothing alike and it might have been just an admin error by the birth registrar, but the craft of archery has united them since early childhood, and that is a good enough reason as any. Together they fight for justice, and their combined signature strike is dubbed "the rain or liberty".
Off to binge a yet another series, I guess!
All the grandkids absolutely love to ride on Grandpa's rope swing- the 3 year old included. Of all of them, she enjoys underdogs the most:)
Thanks so much for taking the time to look through my imagery!

Here at the timetable East end of the siding that is situated in near the town of DeWitt, the control point is NOT named DeWitt as one would expect -- no, no, no, no...that's the West end of the siding. And, at some point in the 90's the NS intentionally changed their naming of control points so that "ends" of Sidings aren't just "west" and "east" (or "north" and "south" as the case may be) of the same base siding name. The control points had to be named something completely dissimilar, ostensibly (I guess) to avoid them somehow being mixed up. Of course, at the same time, it removes the handy knowledge that (say) "West BFE" and "East BFE" were the corresponding ends of the same siding -- now one must "just know" that Mettler is the control point at the other end of the siding from DeWitt. And, one must "just know" this for each and every siding on the District. Which, never really made a lot of sense to me.

“For what are called criminals nowadays are not criminals at all. Starvation, and not sin, is the parent of modern crime. That indeed is the reason why our criminals are, as a class, so absolutely uninteresting from any psychological point of view. They are not marvellous Macbeths and terrible Vautrins. They are merely what ordinary, respectable, commonplace people would be if they had not got enough to eat. ”
